I experienced the breathtaking golden sunrise here on 1 January 2024. It was a truly thankful moment to start the new year with such a magnificent view. The climb was worth every step to see the sun rising over the clouds and the surrounding peaks. The area was quite crowded as expected for New Year's Day, but the atmosphere was filled with positive energy. The path is well-defined, though it can be steep in some parts. It is a must-visit spot in Dieng for anyone who appreciates natural beauty and a peaceful start to the year.

We were a bit late for the sunrise, but it was amazing anyway. BUT if you’re not a really skilled driver, the road from the ticket office to the parking place is really extreme and can get dangerous in some parts (super steep, curvy and the road is full of holes). Even a car was fighting with one part. If you’re not sure, leave the motorbike by the entrance and ask the gate guys to call you a gojek (there is plenty of them on the top of the hill, I believe they would take you up). Or just walk, but it it’s like an hour from there to the very top. I have no idea how the locals make it by motorbike all the way up 🫣. Anyway, the view is stunning, and you can try lots of freshly made food&coffee up there. And as were a bit late, we skipped the biggest masses of people.

The trail is not that challenging and quite short. Only 30-45 minutes. Great option for beginners. The view is also amazing and the sunrise is beautiful. However, it is quite crowded so going on the weekdays would be better.

Sweet place to enjoying sunrise. Awesome point of view with background of mountains. Light hiking to the top estimates about less than hour for slow moderate pace. Surau facilities on track and the top. Crowded at weekends but still got a few point to enjoy sunrise. A lot of stall selling foods, fruits and coffee a long tha way from carpark.

I really love it and Thank God we got good weather even December rainy season, we need to climb quite far, but you will deserve to see breathtaking view and feel like the cloud touch the ground. Better go by bike when peak holiday season because of traffic jam and long queue for car parking.
