My comfort food in Solo! Tahok, which I usually call ‘kembang tahu,’ is a popular dessert which consists of silky tofu-like soya bean with melted palm sugar + ginger. This place offers one of the tastiest kembang tahu out there (which explains why it is very famous) with a good view of the roads near Pasar Gedhe. The cart/gerobak itself is situated under a palm tree in the middle of the road. People in the area usually knows its spot if you ask them for directions!!

(+) Comfort food Solo! Hangat-hangat kuah jahe cocok buat pagi-pagi! Tahok is one of side food that similar with wedang tahu/kembang tahu/u name it. But actually they were made from same ingredient (sari-sari kedelai). But u will not find peanuts inside tahok. Spent for 8k to got a bowl of Tahok. Worth the money? Hell yes. (-) Lemme think about it haha.

the legend tahok in Solo. it is made with soya bean. we call it kembang tahu, tofu's flower. it is sell in Gerobak, like moving traditional truck food in Pasar Gede. it serve hot/warm with ginger soup and sugar. very healthy, taste good. i prefer with less sugar. i forgot how much it is cost per portion. quite costly compare to other traditional food. but you have to try. the old man the seller are very quiet. he sell tahok for 20 years more

Tahok was fresh and had a little touch of ginger. Quite differ from tahok in malaysia. Try it if you come to Surabaya 😉
