Soto Triwindu is a legendary culinary gem in Solo that absolutely lives up to its reputation. Their signature beef soto features a crystal-clear broth that is incredibly light, savory, and deeply comforting. Served in traditional small bowls, the real highlight is pairing it with the massive assortment of side dishes laid out right on the table—the ultra-crispy fried tempeh, perkedel, and flavorful beef skewers are absolute must-tries. Combined with its nostalgic, old-school Javanese atmosphere, it’s the perfect, authentic breakfast or lunch spot that you cannot miss when exploring Solo.
View on GoogleSoto Triwindu is one of the legendary soto restaurants in Solo. For those unfamiliar with soto, it is a traditional Indonesian soup typically made with bean sprouts, a touch of celery, sliced beef or chicken, and flavorful broth. It is especially enjoyable for breakfast and is a popular choice among both locals and tourists. Because of its reputation, the place is usually crowded during breakfast and lunch hours. Once you arrive, it’s best to find a seat first before placing your order. The service is efficient despite the crowd, and the soto is definitely worth trying if you’re visiting Solo.
View on GoogleReally enjoyed my visit to Soto Triwindu. The highlight for me is definitely the broth rich, flavorful, and satisfying even without adding any sauce or sambal. Their satay and frieds are also really good, making the whole meal feel complete. The place has a nice ambience with good vibes, and it’s easy to find, which is always a plus. Considering the quality and taste, the price is very reasonable. Definitely a spot worth coming back to!
View on GoogleI believe this dish has already achieved legendary status. It’s savoury, light and comforting. However as a first-time visitor in August 2026 I’d like to share how to order it or the ordering process at this place. 1. Once arrived, take a piece of paper located close to the giant soup pots. Write down your name and your Soto order only (E.g.: Meat-only Soto, meat and offals, half rice, rice on a separate plate, etc.) 2. Take a queue number with you. 3. Next one, you can order side dishes separately at a different counter in front of the giant pots. 4. Sit at your table and order your drink separately from the beverage servers. 5. Once your Soto(s) ready, the soup pourer will call out your name and queue number. They'll then serve your order. 6. Keep all the order papers for payment at the end. Tip: Finding table could be tricky sometimes. Be agile and kind. Enjoy!
View on GoogleSoto Triwindu is a classic breakfast spot in town, and it really lives up to that reputation. I liked how early it opens, which makes it a great choice for starting the day with something warm and comforting. The soto feels best in the morning, and the whole experience has that simple, traditional charm that makes me want to come back.
