Sate Babi Ong in Surakarta is so much better than its counterpart in Solo Baru! This is a culinary gem for those exploring authentic Indonesian street food. This eatery stands out for its pork satay - skewered and grilled pork. The pork is tender, marinated to perfection with a blend of traditional Javanese spices, creating a harmonious balance between sweet and savory. Just get the mixed rice (nasi campur) to try a little bit of everything. I do recommend to try the ngoyong as well, it’s packed with pork meat. Also the preserved veggie soup is great!

Nasi campur was just okay, nothing special. Nothing like the reviews said at all. Bit disappointed. The restaurant is housed in an old building, everything is quite basic but sufficient.

I liked it. I'll back for the next time. Sate babi, sate bungkus, ngoyang goreng is recommended to you. I'm not recommended with baikut sawi Asin, but cause just not on my taste. It's okay if you want to order. Overall this place is must try if you visiting in surakarta.

Menus quite good, long waiting time, but orderly, overall might be delish in Solo Area, but if you're coming from out of town, esp Jakarta/Bandung, you might find it slightly above average for the taste of the sate babi Rica tite & ngohyong is recommended though
