We were so lucky to get a tour guide who was super informative and funny. It honestly felt like 10% museum visit and 90% culture and history lesson. He shared such precious information about the history of Mataram Islam, along with so much about Javanese culture, traditions, and the philosophy behind the palace. The artifacts and the stories behind them were so unique. Hopefully, after the renovation, they can come back even stronger.
View on GoogleI expected more from here. The guided tour just become so fast without us getting any time to spend enjoy and watching the exhibited items or the palace. The fault is not with the guides though. The guides are polite, knowledgeable and experienced. The guided tour ended inside 30 minutes. I wish it is like museums in Yogya where we can experience at our own pace.
View on GoogleEntrance ticket cost idr30k pax. The price is included the guide. The guide has a 30 years experiences to explain almost everything. The palace once closed for 6 years due to internal conflict. The most interesting thing to see is the original king's vehicle. It still in good condition.
View on GoogleEntrance ticket is super affordable, no reason to skip this place. A guide will be assigned to explain all of it. Our guide was just the best. Worth it. We rented a becak for 50k just to get around the Palace, because it's way too big. They are parking in front of the palace, near the entrance. Solo is kinda hot around 10am to 1pm, so walking by foot to get around it would melt you down 😁
View on GoogleFor those who has interest for historical places, you should come here. For only 35k, you will get 1 hour storytelling from the era of Majapahit until most recent Kesunanan of Surakarta. The tour guide is with an excellent knowledge because he has firsthand experiences inside the Kesunanan. Recommended.
