Since I was a child, I knew about Lawang Sewu from TV shows that said you might see the ghost of a Dutch woman there. That’s why this place felt a bit scary to me at first. But thankfully, the government preserved this building because of its strong historical connection to the railway industry. It used to function as an office related to train operations and ticket administration. Considering that Semarang Tawang Station is known as one of the oldest railway stations (I read that information at the station), it makes sense that this office was built here during that time. Instead of seeing ghosts, you’ll probably find more than 30 cats and around 60 pigeons wandering around the area. It’s actually amazing and gives the place a magical atmosphere rather than a scary one. Don’t worry if you get hungry — they have UMKM food stalls, as well as craft and merchandise stores inside the complex. The entrance ticket is only 30K, including an informational video. They also offer a tour to the kavalering), but you can ask the staff for more detailed information. So I must say, if you go to Semarang, this place is absolutely a must-visit. I give it 5/5!

this place is so beautiful. It was built by dutch colonialism era. There are many iconic doors, that's way the building is called as a thousand doors. The vibe is so warm. There is musician group who sings viral songs. There many food stalls and gift shops. It's wonderful

The location is super, it is the 2nd central of city. But if you bring car then you must be prepared to find place to park your car. The easiest way to go there is go by a taxi. Good place for anyone who like historical site. There is new entertainment which you can learn the history of train in Java Island and is is presented by a 3D video....what an interesting experience. You can enjoy Lawang Sewu differently by eating food on the grass, but it served only at night with life music.
