Lunpia Gang Lombok is still one of the lumpia spots in Semarang that actually lives up to its reputation. I was lucky this time because it was not too busy, so my order was ready in under 10 minutes. The parking area was also fairly spacious, which made the visit even more convenient. I tried both the fried and the fresh lumpia, and the biggest reason this place stands out is the bamboo shoots. They tasted fresh, not smelly, and that alone already puts them above many other lumpia places. The filling was packed, savory with only a slight sweetness, and the egg inside made it even better. The sweetness mainly came from the sauce, so the flavor stayed balanced instead of becoming too sweet. The fried version had a crispy wrapper and was really satisfying to eat, while the fresh version is a great option if you want the same filling without the oily feel. I have been here before, and when I had the chance to visit Semarang again, I made time to come back because it really is that good. For me, the fresh bamboo shoots and the clean flavor are the real selling points. This is not just a famous place, it is a place that still deserves its legendary status.

We were lucky to arrive at a good time, so the queue wasn’t too long. The lumpia was delicious—crispy on the outside with a well-balanced filling. The bamboo shoots were nicely done: light, not too fibrous, and without a strong smell, which made it very enjoyable. There’s no seating area to eat on the spot, but you can sit next door as long as you order their ice cream. Surprisingly, the ice cream was really good and made a nice pairing after the lumpia. For payment, they only accept cash or bank transfer, so it’s best to prepare some cash in advance. Overall, a must-try iconic spot in Semarang.
