the first time i went here, i was surprised by it's invitation to try the food they served... very communicative, innovative, and creative! the food i ever try were soto lamongan, rawon daging, and... the most delicious food i don't find anywhere else except here is the tahu tek! it's petis that combined by others tasty ingredients is very nice, like i got home to east java... i do give a highly recommendation for having lunch here...

So far is the best Surabaya food in town. Tried their rawon and it was good. Will come back some other time to try other Surabaya food such as Soto and Rawon Buntut.

Not Surabaya Rawon, I actually wanted to buy ayam penyet, but because it uses male broiler chicken instead of free-range chicken, I finally chose nasi empal penyet... turns out the beef empal is tender, the shrimp paste sambal (sambal terasi) is fantastic, too bad the fresh vegetables are only sliced cucumber and raw cabbage, the good thing is the rice is fluffy and plump.. meanwhile my wife chose the Madura beef soto menu which is also delicious.. it really feels like eating in Surabaya.. menu items you must try are their signature Rawon, tambak bayan style mixed rice (nasi campur), as well as Gresik's signature nasi krawu...

This Rawon depot is located inside the Ventura culinary area. The rawon choices are quite diverse, not only beef but also ribs, empal, and oxtail.
