Best pizza I have had in Indonesia! Great italian style full of flavour. Yesterday we arrived at 20:20. Unfortunately the pizza’s were sold out but today we came early (19:00 PM they start selling) and it was very rewarding. 12/10!
View on GoogleWhat an amazing hostel to stay at. The owner, John, is one of the warmest and friendliest people I've ever met as are the other members of staff who will welcome you straight into the community. Akbar deserves a special mention as he helped so much with giving us recommendations, advice and sorting out logistics, as well as being super kind and welcoming. The hostel vibe is awesome and layed back with everyone playing music, and singing along into the evening. Occasional parties and bon fires are also common! The beds are comfy and the dorm room has good air conditioning. The staff also speak good English. You can hire Scooters from the hostel (which is right next to the petrol station) for a good price. The location is excellent being within walking distance of the ferry port and places to eat. Overall we felt so welcomed by everyone in the hostel and had an amazing time in Karimunjawa! Thankyou so much Motel Indigo!!!
View on GoogleThis place is unlike any others. I’d say it’s magical! There’s a huge mango tree to welcome you, hammocks where you can relax, and an atmosphere that truly reflects the island way of life – Indigo is definitely my favourite place in Karimunjawa. In the evenings, everyone gathers to share music, talk with other travellers and enjoy precious moments with friends that will stay in my heart forever! For me, Indigo feels like home, and I’m so grateful to the people who’ve made it that way!🫰🏼 A big applause to the owners, John and Silvia, who’ve created a place where you can feel at home even if you’re on the other side of the world, but also to the staff and especially to Akbar, Habir and Rudi, who gave me great advice and helped me whenever I needed it. 🧡 Bonus point: John’s pizza is an absolute must-try because it’s delicious (he’s an excellent chef!), and I say that as an Italian... Trust me, this place will make your experience in Karimunjawa so much better! Aku rindu Indigo and everyone, Titin
View on GoogleMotel and pizzeria, seperate. I cannot rate motel as we did not stay there but I am rating Johnny's pizza as 5 star. He actually trained in Italy as pizzaolio and developed his own flour recipe to make napoletan style pizza. Highly recommend if you are missing a good pizza. Johnny himself is also have great local knowledge, ask him if he is not busy baking pizzas. One note: don't go early, as he only arrives to make pizza after 7pm.
View on GoogleThe atmosphere in the hostel is amazing. The team is really trying to involve everyone and make you feel comfy. Heads up best team. Socializing is therefore super easy. The rooms need a lot of maintenance though. The curtains are broken and very old. The doors need maintenance. They are so loud that o would wake up everytime someone would go to pee. The bathrooms were really not good. All the toilet seats were broken. No soap by the sink. Easy things to fix 🫶🏼
