Lots of grilled seafood at night. For a small island, it is rather expensive for the local and sometimes the food waiting time can reach half an hour. You got to try your luck and pick a good place for this (or just ask the locals there).
View on GoogleThis is the local night market and a small park in Karimunjawa. This place has a variety of stores to visit, such as souvenirs, foods, and also seafoods. You can enjoy a variety of seafood here such as crab, clam, prawns, squid, a variety of fish, and more. They also have plenty of seatings in lesehan. Such a great place to enjoy seafood while exploring the night market.
View on GoogleThe local public park for tourists and locals to stroll and eat. A lot of stalls to choose from, mostly selling seafood. I tried ikan bakar busate, ordered kepiting saus padang (crab with spicy padang sauce), squid fried in batter, grilled lobster, boiled shrimp, and grilled fish (not pictured). The orange juice is also refreshing. The crab is not fresh, but grilled lobster is decent. Price is very cheap for seafood. Unfortunately a lot of stray cats asking for food and flies.
View on GoogleLocal night market. There are several stalls that sell mostly fish and other see food like scallops and crabs. Pick something, pay and take a seat behind the stalls. There was some confusion on where we should sit because we ordered from several stalls and it dodnt sit right with some sellers. Food was fresh and delicious. Very affordable.
View on GoogleThis town square is the heart of the island, marking the zero point. It's a vibrant hub of activities and festivities throughout the day. Starting at 6 PM, the night market comes alive—one corner is filled with fresh seafood, while another is lined with souvenir stalls. Kids are playing in other corners, adding to the lively atmosphere. During my visit, it just so happened to be Eid Mubarak, and the square was transformed into a beautiful prayer area.
