It's not big, yet this museum is good enough to explore. You can read the history of Bank Rakyat Indonesia, national banking system, etc. here... It's quite accessible, so there's no reason you'd skip this place whenever you're in Purwokerto. It's free anyway

December 2017 This is about the earlier of Bank Rakyat Indonesia as a first state bank in Indonesia during colonialism era. Not a big hall for display things but comfortable to explore. This museum is also use for bank's operation nowadays. Too much simple. Beside this museum, there is a imitation building like home which is as a first building for daily operational. Suitable to take the children. Easy to reach it because it settles at Jalan Sudirman, the protocol street at Purwokerto. The entrance ticket is free. You can get a guide for free too. Open from Monday - Saturday at 8 am - 15.00 pm.

It's a good place if you want to know the history of economic in Indonesia and also the history of BRI in Java. Nice place to visit.

One of a good spots to visit during your short time in Purwokerto. Many collections from early bank notes of Indonesia and during VOC. Here you can also learn the brief history of BRI, easy to understand from the dioramas. Another good collection is the replication of the first bank office during the Dutch era.
