Cerita Alam is a beautiful restaurant. The interior was aestheticly pleasing. There were many seatings, the dining area has high ceiling level, makes it airy and feels open. There were many VIP rooms as well for private dinings. There was a room full of aquariums for live seafood keeping. We were invited to a birthday party. The food that were served: Es Teler Lemon Tea Mie Goreng seafood Sup Jagung Kepiting Ca Kombinasi sayur Baby kol Ca Garlic Gurama Nets Sapi Ala Beijing Udang Telur Asin Cakwe Udang Cerita Alam The selection of dishes was astonishing, we were a bit confused what to choose, at first. All the food turned out delicious and tasty. We'll definitely coming back to try other dishes.

Visited Cerita Alam, Baturaden. First impression: the place is big, okayish-designed, and honestly one of the nicest family restaurants in the Purwokerto area in terms of interior and ambience. It really feels like they’re aiming for a proper “fancy family restaurant” experience. Food-wise, I’d say it’s okay-ish. Nothing particularly impressive in terms of taste, but everything was enjoyable enough—I finished most of the dishes down to the bone. Quality-wise, no complaints: the seafood was fresh, and the meats were tender. However… the dining experience took a sharp turn at the end. When I asked for the bill, I was told there’s a 2% charge for credit card payments, which I said was fine. Then they asked for the 2% in cash. That part genuinely blew my mind 🤯 and kind of ruined the whole experience, especially knowing how credit card charges actually work in the F&B industry. It felt a bit malu-maluin for a place this big and polished. Because of that, I probably wouldn’t come back. But if you’re looking for a nice family restaurant mainly for the ambience, this place might still be worth a visit.
