Overrated, unfortunately. The location is quite hidden, and getting in and out can be a hassle. Parking is limited and rather chaotic, especially during busy hours. As for the product itself, I genuinely don't understand the hype. The mochi was just average and honestly a bit chewy in an unpleasant way. The taste wasn't anything special, especially considering the premium price point. What disappointed me the most was the service. Some staff members came across as unfriendly and somewhat dismissive, as if the brand's popularity alone was enough and customer experience was no longer a priority. Given the quality, pricing, and overall experience, I left feeling disappointed and wishing I had spent my money elsewhere.
View on GoogleThis is one of the most famous spots to buy mochi in Sukabumi. Legendary status, and not the kind people just throw around casually. It’s been around for years, and clearly still going strong. The place is almost always packed. Locals, domestic tourists, even international visitors all come here for one thing: mochi for oleh-oleh. Expect queues, expect crowd, and accept your fate. Back then, they were known mostly for the original mochi. Now, they’ve expanded a lot. You can find more modern flavors like tiramisu, ovomaltine, cheese, Oreo, Nutella, and more. They also offer variations like daifuku mochi and even roti mochi. So if you’re bored of the classic version, there are plenty of options to explore. They don’t stop at mochi either. There are other snacks like chips and sweets available, which makes it even more tempting to overspend on “just one box.” Now, the downside. Parking. It’s limited, and since the place is always crowded, finding a spot for a car can be tricky. There’s street parking along the main road, but that often makes traffic worse. So you might end up dealing with a mini traffic jam just to buy your snacks. Overall, this is a must-visit if you’re in Sukabumi and want authentic mochi. Great variety, strong reputation, always busy. Just prepare your patience, both for parking and the crowd.
View on GoogleMust buy item from Sukabumi!! You can try the free tester before you buy. Generous filling and slim packaging, but please be aware with the expiration date.
View on GoogleOne of Sukabumi’s iconic mochi shops! The Ovomaltine mochi is an absolute must-try. They also have a tasting station, but the samples are usually gone by the time you get there. (that is why i deduct one star on the service)😅
View on GoogleCame all the way from Singapore to Sukabumi just to buy the Mochi. Heard great things about this place. I came on the 28th January 2026, bought 6 boxes and little did i know all the boxes had only 2 days left on the expiry date! Went back home on the 29th and everything was spoiled with fungus. Ridiculous. We threw away everything. It is not that cheap. Please check the expiry date before buying. And im so disappointed. I think Sukabumi is a beautiful place. The people are beautiful. And many people mentioned Mochi Kaswari Lampion to be Sukabumi’s main tourist icon. I feel it’s such a shame for a respected company to sell nearly expired food to customers.
