View on GoogleThere is a long history behind the establishment of Keraton Kasepuhan in Cirebon. The establishment of Keraton Kasepuhan Cirebon is connected to the collapse of the Cirebon kingdom in 1666 during the reign of Panembahan Ratu II or Pangeran Rasmi. . At that time, Sultan Amangkurat I (the ruler of Mataram), who was the father-in-law of Panembahan Ratu II, summoned his son-in-law to Surakarta and accused him of conspiring with Banten to overthrow his rule in Mataram. . After that, Panembahan Ratu II was exiled and died in Surakarta in 1667, and the vacant Cirebon Kingdom was taken over by Mataram. This unilateral takeover angered Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, who ruled from Banten. Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa then intervened to free the two sons of Penambahan Ratu II, who were also exiled, namely Pangeran Kartawijaya and Pangeran Martawijaya. . In 1677, an internal conflict occurred within the Cirebon Sultanate Family. Because of differences of opinion over the successor to the Sultanate's throne. Therefore, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa divided the Cirebon Sultanate into three parts, namely Keraton Kasepuhan, Keraton Kanoman, and Panembahan Cirebon. . Keraton Kasepuhan was led by Pangeran Kartawijaya (Sultan Sepuh I), Keraton Kanoman was led by Pangeran Martawijaya (Sultan Anom I), and Panembahan Cirebon was led by Pangeran Wangsakerta. From that time, Sultan Sepuh I occupied Keraton Pakungwati, which has now become Keraton Kasepuhan. . @swj.ambassador @smiling.westjava @ridwankamil @jaswitajabar @disparbudjabar @disbudparkotacirebon @disbudparkabcirebon @swj.ambassador_cirebon . 📌Keraton Kasepuhan Cirebon, Lemahwungkuk District, Cirebon City . #swjambassador #smilingwestjavaambassador #smilingwestjava #dijabaraja #jabarjuara #tourism #pariwisata #indonesiajuara #indonesiagallery #cirebonbanget #cirebonhits #cirebon #cirebonbribin #cirebonhistory #history #heritage #culture
