Bakso Linggarjati is one of Bandung's classic culinary institutions and definitely worth visiting, especially if you enjoy exploring traditional local food. We tried the Yamin Special, regular Yamin, meatball soup, wonton soup, tripe soup, and the avocado juice. The noodles have a nice al dente texture, which I really liked. However, the Yamin seasoning is quite sweet. If you're not a fan of sweet noodles or sweet rice vermicelli, this may not be your preferred style. For me, the noodles were a little sweeter than I expected, but the meatballs were delicious, the tripe had a great chewy-crispy texture, and the clear broth was rich, savory, and very comforting. The rice vermicelli (bihun) is also slightly sweet, but I actually enjoyed it more than the noodles. The sweetness was well balanced and paired nicely with the savory broth. The avocado juice was another highlight. It was thick, creamy, and made with real avocado—not overly sweet or artificial. The generous amount of fresh avocado gave it a rich, satisfying texture, making it a perfect companion to the meal. Another pleasant surprise was the portion size. Even the regular serving is quite generous and can easily be shared by two people with smaller appetites. The restaurant has a nostalgic old-school atmosphere that has been well maintained over the years. It's clean, comfortable, and full of classic charm, making it an enjoyable place for anyone looking to experience one of Bandung's legendary eateries. Overall, while the sweet Yamin noodles may not suit everyone's taste, the quality ingredients, delicious meatballs, flavorful broth, generous portions, authentic avocado juice, and timeless ambiance make Bakso Linggarjati a place worth visiting. A great destination for food lovers looking to experience one of Bandung's iconic culinary spots.
View on GoogleBack after 20 years to one of Bandung's legendary noodle spots. Unfortunately, the taste of the noodles has changed a lot compared to my first visit. Perhaps that's one of the reasons the restaurant isn't as crowded as it used to be. I also feel the prices are now overpriced. I ordered the salty Yamien with Babat. While the service was good and the staff were friendly, the food just didn't live up to the memories I had from years ago.
View on GoogleEstablished in 1950, Mie Linggarjati stands as one of Bandung’s most iconic culinary destinations, renowned for its authentic yamin noodles. Yamin noodles are a beloved Indonesian dish featuring springy egg noodles tossed in a savory or sweet soy-based sauce, typically accompanied by toppings like minced chicken, meatballs, or offal. At Linggarjati, both the yamin manis (sweet) and yamin asin (salty) variants are available, each delivering a rich, flavorful experience that has remained consistent over the decades. Dining here feels like stepping into a time machine, where tradition and taste have been meticulously preserved. To complement your meal, don’t miss the Es Alpukat Kocok—a traditional Indonesian beverage made by blending ripe avocados with crushed ice, palm sugar syrup, and sometimes topped with chocolate or condensed milk. This creamy, refreshing drink serves as the perfect counterbalance to the hearty noodles. Located at Jalan Balonggede No.1, near Bandung’s Alun-Alun, Mie Linggarjati offers not just a meal, but a nostalgic culinary journey that continues to captivate both locals and visitors alike.
View on GoogleLegendary noodle shop in Bandung. Taste-wise, it is comforting, delightful, and has a big portion. But the price is very steep for just a noodle. I think the price of noodles is to buy the nostalgia and ambience here 😅. Anyway, the ice avocado is fantastic. One of the best by far.
View on GoogleA legendary noodle restaurant in Bandung. They serve my order super fast. I really love Yamin manis with their homemade sambal (not to spicy). Also I order pangsit goreng, this dish OK laa~, but the sambal is extraordinary 🤩. AND you must order the legendery ES ALPUKAT, this beverage is SOOO GGWWEEEDDD. All waiters are very helpful and polite 👍.
