Very good food. The best restaurant in town I’ve seen so far

Went here for an afternoon snack. We ordered the Chicken Basket and Make Wings You Fly . The first order was crispy, tasty, and really good. We ordered the wings again and asked for drumstick chicken with a different sauce, but the waitress said it wasn't possible without checking with the kitchen. The second order was far different from the first in appearance, texture, and taste. The staff could also be more attentive and less focused on their phone.

We were greeted by generally unfriendly and inattentive staff, and then sat alone on the other side of the restaraunt (we were the only tourists and there was plenty of space to sit with everyone else). I ordered a pizza and they came back with what my partner ordered, so she had her dinner, but then told me they had run out of pizza. So they waited until my partner had her dinner infront of her to tell me my food wasn’t coming. The pizza was one of the only vegetarian options so I asked if they could remove beef from the pasta or quesadilla which was a no. I understand it is not a vegetarian restaurant but I have been to Warungs in rural Indonesia who have been more than happy to accommodate. I then ordered what was essentially crisps for £1.50 which you wouldn’t even pay that much for in England. when we wanted to pay the staff were on their phones / other side of restaurant (it was very quiet) and so that took a while. My partners chicken was almost entirely bone / gristle and it was easily one of the more pricy meals for what we got. We’ve been in Indonesia for 7 weeks, we love local food and people, this experience was just disappointing. I wish we saved the money and went to McDonald’s.

I rate it a 3 because the food was disappointing for the price. We ordered nachos. Which were really just stale Doritos with some sauces on top. And some rice bowls. Which were just OK. Ambience is nice but the whole restaurant is a space for smokers. I understand majority of people smoke in Indonesia but a restaurant that seems this upscale should have at least a portion for non smokers. We got moved to the back of the bar as that was the only spot where smoke wouldn't reach.

Absolutely recommend for cocktails, beers and food. Wonderful service, relaxed atmosphere. This would be a perfect place for large gatherings or quiet dinners. Cocktails are really lovely and everything at great prices, not too expensive at all. Will definitely return 🙂
