Coming here an hour before its closing, I thought food gonna be just so so because the staffs started to clean up… but then when I tried the food, it was amazing. The Cumi Cabai Ijo is fantastic hahahaha. I really am in love with the food. Definitely will come back again if I am in Bandung in the future. Lovzzzz

Good Food and Cozy Atmosphere, but Slightly Pricey I had dinner at Imah Babaturan Bandung and overall it was a nice experience. I ordered the nasi cumi sambal ijo. The squid with green chili sambal was delicious and the portion was generous, although the rice was a bit less fluffy than I expected. My wife ordered fried bihun, bala-bala, and siomay. The bihun was slightly hard and not soft enough, but the bala-bala and siomay were both tasty. The atmosphere was comfortable, especially with the air-conditioned indoor area. They also provide free crackers, which was a nice touch. Motorcycle parking is available, but car parking is only on the roadside. In terms of price, I think the nasi cumi sambal ijo at IDR 60,000 is a bit expensive. But overall, the food and ambiance were enjoyable.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Imah Babaturan. Their signature Green Chili Squid is absolutely delicious—the squid is fresh, tender, and perfectly cooked, while the green chili sauce is savory with just the right amount of heat. It pairs perfectly with steamed rice. The restaurant has a cozy, home-like atmosphere, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. The staff are friendly, the service is quick, and the food quality is excellent. Highly recommended if you're looking for authentic Indonesian cuisine, especially their amazing Green Chili Squid!

One of my absolute favorite comfort food spots in Bandung is Imah Babaturan, literally means “a friend’s house,” and that’s exactly how it feels like you’re stopping by a friend’s home and eating dishes cooked by their parents. Maybe that sounds dramatic, but that’s genuinely the vibe. Their first branch is near BALTOS, and parking there can be a bit tricky. Sometimes I park at the mall and walk over. They also have another branch towards Taman Sari, which is more spacious and has better parking. Both serve the same delicious food. Honestly, I love almost everything on the menu. The most popular dish is definitely the squid with green chili (cumi cabe ijo), a lot of people come specifically for that. It’s really good. But personally, my favorite is the OSENG SAPI ASAP. It’s spicy in the best way, using large green chilies (kind of like cabe gendot). It’s bold, flavorful, and so satisfying. They also serve fresh bala-bala (vegetables fritters) with peanut sauce. They fry them fresh, so they’re warm and crispy. So good. And if you see jars of crackers on the table… yes, you can take them. They’re complimentary, just take what you can finish. Drinks are simple I usually just order sweet iced tea or plain iced tea. Another thing I love is their weekly special menu. They post it on their social media every week, and it changes regularly. The dishes are often creative and only available for a limited time, which makes it fun to keep coming back. It has become quite a tourist spot lately (you’ll see many reviews on TikTok). The prices are a bit on the higher side some said that it’s “tourist pricing” but I think it’s depends on what you order and the portions are generous. You can even share dishes because they’re quite big and filling. They open early around 7 AM, which is impressive for a local eatery. I’ve been coming here since around 2020/2021, and it’s consistently been one of my comfort food places in Bandung. They also offer some frozen menu items you can take home, and you can find them on Gojek if you’re too lazy to go out. If parking is an issue at the Kebon bibit branch, I’d suggest going to the Taman Sari one. I just really love this place. It’s homey, flavorful, nostalgic, and always satisfying 🥰

a Sundanese warung with both tradition and a touch of modern charm, I found myself hungry not just for food, but for the whole experience. From the outside, it already catches your eye, inviting... a little esthetic, yet rooted in something familiar. The endless menu option. The service, surprisingly quick, as if they knew Sundanese food shouldn't keep you waiting. And the taste? Let's just say... Sundanese cooking has never let me down, and here was no exception. The space was clean, comfortable, and true to its name... Babaturan, like eating with friends, with food that warms you from the inside out. And just like that... I realized: some meals don't need reviews of flavor, because when it's good, you simply know.
