I can see why Gudeg Banda has such a strong reputation. The gudeg really satisfied my craving, even with its slightly different style from what I usually expect in Yogyakarta. The place feels tidy and comfortable, and the ordering setup at the counter was simple enough. It is a bit on the pricier side, but for me it was still worth it.

As a local, Gudeg Banda has been my go-to spot for years, and it never ceases to amaze me. It’s a true classic restaurant that has managed to keep its authentic quality consistent over time. Their gudeg is pure nostalgia in a bite, one mouthful instantly brings back fond childhood memories. They serve the gudeg basah (wet) style, which is perfectly rich, savory, and has that signature comforting sweet flavor profile that hits just the right spot. While the gudeg is the star, their tahu opor (tofu in coconut broth) is another highlight that is simply too good to miss. It is incredibly flavorful, beautifully seasoned, and pairs perfectly with the rest of the dish. Whether you are a local regular like me or a tourist looking for a legendary culinary experience in Bandung, Gudeg Banda is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Had a nice & enjoyable family lunch of an authentic Indonesian at Gudeg Banda in Bandung 😄 Fresh ingredients all around, and the restaurant was clean and spacious. Though lighting could be better, a bit dim. The ayam opor was rich and savory 🍗, krecek was melt-in-your-mouth delish, and gudeg was spot on with tangy sweetness taste. Pour the opor gravy on top of the rice and had it with krupuk, a perfect combo 😋

This place is one of the most legendary eating place in Bandung. They have a nice taste consistency even till now. They sell Gudeg (Javanese Traditional Food). I ordered their menu package Nasi Gudeg Ayam Opor (34k). It consists Steamed White Rice, Gudeg Nangka (Marinated Jackfruit), Sambal Krecek (Cow Skin Sambal), Tahu Opor (Tofu) and Ayam Opor (Boiled Chicken). You choose and pay for your food first at the cashier then take your plates yourself to your table. Their Gudeg has a slight less sweet taste compared to original place one in Yogyakarta. The ordering time was too long and made a long queue because they served you right after you confirmed your order and some people were ordering so much food or just confused of what to order.

A recommended traditional restaurant that famous for their gudeg. Price was really affordable (below 30K) for such a clean place and good service. The highlight was krecek with pretty thick and intense flavor. It would be suitable for daily meals. They also sell nasi rames and some other traditional cuisines I think, but never try them.
