It’s definitely improved since our visit 2 years ago. The taste of the food brings back childhood memories. We tried a variety of dishes like mangut lele, sayur lodeh, ayam panggang, sambal terong, pepes ati ampela, telur krispi, tempe bacem, and a few different drinks. We really enjoyed the food. The place is quite spacious, with both open areas and private rooms. Suggestions: * It would be great to have more menu options for kids. * The mangut lele could be better if the spices on the fish skin were reduced—it’s a bit too strong and slightly sticks to the tongue.

Omah Yung Ginah is about a 15-minute drive from BSD. I went on a Friday morning and it was pretty empty. They have two ordering sections, one for gudeg and one for prasmanan, with a lot of different options. Taste-wise, it's standard Sundanese and Javanese food. The food is fine, but the place itself is what makes it special. The open air, green spaces, and all the lesehan and pendopo seating make it a good spot to relax and unwind. Parking is easy. It's quiet on weekdays but gets packed on weekends. Nice place to visit once in a while for the atmosphere.

The surroundings have a very authentic Javanese atmosphere, making the place feel warm and traditional. The food is delicious, affordable, and very satisfying. Best of all, there are almost no flies, so it’s a great place for families with kids. Children will enjoy the play area where they can run around and take photos. If they want extra fun, you can buy a bubble wand for them. You’ll also find beautiful peacocks and adorable capybara-like animals that resemble little puppies. Since it’s an open-air venue, it’s a good idea to bring a small portable fan, especially on daytime. 😍😍 Don’t miss the Es Dawet, Mangut, Tempe Mendoan, Bakwan Jagung, and the refreshing Es Jahe Sereh.

One of the most authentic Javanese dining experiences I’ve found in BSD. The whole place really brings the atmosphere of Yogyakarta to life, from the traditional Joglo house concept, wooden ornaments, down to the kitchen that still uses firewood for cooking. The ambience feels warm, nostalgic, and very Indonesian. The food selection is also super complete because the concept is prasmanan, so you can directly choose various authentic Javanese dishes. Everything tasted comforting and flavorful with that traditional homemade touch. Some of my favorites were the Pecel Pincuk with rich peanut sauce, Mangut Ikan Nila with smoky savory flavor, savory and rich Botok Teri Lamtoro, and the creamy and comforting Jangan Lombok. Their traditional snacks and warm drinks like Serabi, Bajigur, and Wedang Uwuh also completed the whole experience perfectly. They also have both indoor and outdoor areas, making it a great place for family gatherings or casual meals while enjoying the traditional Indonesian vibes. If you miss authentic Javanese cuisine in BSD, this place is definitely worth visiting.
