Great spot for comfort food. The laksa noodles taste very authentic, rich and flavorful, and the mie ayam jasio is also really good with generous toppings. Drinks are a highlight too — Thai Milo, Es Kopi Havana, Coffee Latte Ferrero, and Lychee Yakult all taste authentic and well-balanced. The place is cozy and comfortable, prices are reasonable, and overall it’s a solid choice for a casual meal.
View on GoogleService is poor. I need to get up and clean the table myself after waiting for 10 minutes and nobody came. They even leave the cleaning cart at the next table. Foods we ordered came out slow and tasted not as expected. 老板,我有点失望,抱歉 Photo is the table, when we first arrived until i clean it up
View on GoogleWriting I’ve been to Laoban quite a few times, and it never disappoints. My go-to orders are the half boiled egg, Hainan chicken, crispy skin, butter kaya toast, and butter coffee — everything tastes great and is very consistent. The Hainan chicken is tender and flavorful, and the crispy skin is perfectly crunchy, making it a great pairing. The half boiled eggs are always cooked just right. As for the drinks, the butter coffee is unique, rich, and definitely something different from regular coffee. The place itself is comfortable for a casual meal, and the service is good. Overall, Laoban has become one of my regular spots whenever I’m craving simple but delicious food. Highly recommended!
View on GoogleMost of the taste was too savory, perhaps there are too many seasonings? The size of each portion is quite small, is it to chase affordable price? Salty soybean sauce should be provided on every table like usual chinese food restaurant. May all space be air conded. Be aware that parking lot was limited, somewhat difficult to get one.
View on GoogleThe food was just okay, nothing too special. I ordered the bubur jasio and nasi ayam Hainan. The porridge was quite nice, but the texture was too thick. The toppings were good, especially the chicken skin. The Hainanese chicken rice, however, was very bland, it didn’t have any hint of ginger or sesame flavor, and the soy sauce on the chicken lacked saltiness. On top of that, I found a hair on the chicken, which really ruined my appetite (definitely not mine since my hair is long). The portion size was also quite small. Overall, though, it’s not bad for breakfast or a light snack.
