If you’re looking for a spot in Depok that feels less like a concrete box and more like a backyard retreat, Dadi’s Coffee Garden is the place to be. It’s a hybrid coffee shop and restaurant that manages to blend a garden aesthetic with a solid menu, though it’s definitely a "know before you go" kind of establishment. The "Garden" in the name isn't just for show. The layout features both indoor and outdoor seating, with lush trees and a tranquil fish pond that give the place a refreshing, breezy energy. It’s the kind of spot where you can breathe a little easier—at least until the lunch rush hits. The Lunch Crunch: While it can be peaceful, be warned: during lunch hours, the indoor area becomes a family dining hub. It gets loud and very "nosy" (in every sense of the word). If you’re looking for a quiet sanctuary, aim for mid-afternoon. Bonus Perk: Since it’s located right next to Haka Dimsum, you have the luxury of snagging some dimsum to pair with your caffeine fix. The Menu: From Donuts to Dinner The variety here is impressive. Whether you’re just peckish or starving, they’ve got you covered: Quick Bites: A great selection of doughnuts, pastries, and snacks. Heavy Hitters: Proper meals including burgers and pizza that actually hold their own. Ordering & Hidden Fees: Dadi's offers two ways to get your food, but both require you to be on your toes: The Methods: You can order the old-fashioned way at the bar or scan the QR/Bar code at your table. The Surcharge: Be aware that convenience comes at a cost—using the bar code option adds an extra IDR 2,000 to your bill. Take Away: If you aren't staying, expect to pay a take-away fee of IDR 3,000. Precision is Key: The service can be a bit chaotic. Be incredibly specific with the servers about your order—whether it’s "to-go" vs. "dine-in" or your sugar and ice levels. If you aren't crystal clear, order mix-ups are almost a guarantee. Do not come here expecting a productive "work from cafe" session. The free Wi-Fi is, frankly, annoying. It uses an automated suspension system that forces you to constantly log back in after your free session expires. Between the spotty internet and the lunchtime noise, it’s a place for socializing, not spreadsheets. Final Verdict: Dadi’s Coffee Garden is a fantastic choice for a family lunch or a casual hangout with friends who want variety. The atmosphere is lovely and the food hits the mark, but the frustrating Wi-Fi, hidden service fees, and the need for high-maintenance ordering keep it from being a perfect "all-rounder." Go for: The fish pond views and the pizza. Skip if: You have a low tolerance for "convenience fees" or need a stable internet connection.
View on GoogleWe often visit here when coming to Depok. I think their specialty here is chinese-malay type breakfast meals. They are delicious. The place is cozy, open space seatings. Recommended.
View on GoogleA great place to hang out with friends or family. There's live music, and I happened to come on a Saturday night, so it was quite crowded. The motorcycle parking area is quite spacious, but there doesn't seem to be much space for cars. There is an aviary in the middle, so children will definitely enjoy seeing the birds inside. I think the coffee and burgers are pretty good, but I'd suggest for the fish and chips it can be made a little thicker so that the fish flavor is more flavorful than the flour.
View on GoogleLet's review. The place is cozy with a pleasant garden atmosphere. The parking space in front of the cafe is limited, only enough for 4 - 5 cars, but there seems to be a parking lot across the street. As for the food, the bread is delicious and the portion is quite filling, although not the best but worth it. The chilli oil noodles are good, the texture of the noodles is chewy and the soup and boiled dumplings are good. The fried dumplings are good, just not home made but frozen. The butter coffee is good, creamy enough Now their handicap is: I ordered fried dumplings and wanted to switch to fried banana was rejected on the grounds that it was already finished, well maybe the policy here is like that but in some places that prioritize customer satisfaction do. There was hair in the half-cooked egg I ordered, so their cleanliness is still lacking.
View on GoogleThis place is a nice place for gathering with small group of people like I did with some of my knitter friends. This place is clean and cozy, comfortable. The food are great and the prices are just right. However it will be better if they come with the better system for ordering the menu since it’s just not practical for people in the 2nd floor to go up and down the stairs to order, maybe they should set up a table for the attendants at the 2nd floor too. Overall it’s worth visit.
