Tan Ek Tjoan is one of the oldest bakery from Bogor established since 1921. The history behind this bakery is long and interesting from my pov. The owner, Tan Ek Tjoan and wife build their bakery from their own house with purpose and targeting Dutch people who back then many of them were resided at Bogor. As time went by not only Dutch people enjoy the bread but also Indonesian especially when the locals were the ones help to sell the bread and make it well-known. Anyway, I tried their restaurant which part of the bakery house right across the Ekalokasari Plasa. The building itself was old with simple dining area, they really kept it vintage. They have spices rice with green chilli traditional fried chicken for 59k, the chicken noodle costs 45k, fritters such as tempe mendoan costs 25k. The snacks like celorot (4.5k), sticky rice bacang (chicken/meat) will cost you 21k, and rhum raisin with non alcohol rum for 37k. The price for the dishes quite above average. My personal favourite beside all of their bread was the ice cream particularly rhum raisin (love it!).

One of the oldest famous bakery in Indonesia. Their signature bread is roti tapal kuda (horse shoe). You must come here and try a piece of Indonesian heritage. :) They do sell other dishes such as fried rice, porridge, etc. Update: We visited back in October 3, 2018 and we eat 2 dish. The dish tasted interesting. However, I do recommend the bread, as that what makes Tan An Tjoan famous.
