The lime leaf rice is always good, but today the seller/cashier was terrible, extremely grumpy. Whereas previously they were all smiles. The chicken was also a bit tough, AND THE SAMBAL WAS SO LITTLE

Tried it.. the sambal is good. The lime leaf rice flavor is there, but when bought the rice was too hard, maybe it could be made a bit fluffier. The chicken could perhaps be seasoned better to make it more savory.

I asked for geprek chicken rice, then they offered what kind of rice I wanted, regular or lime leaf. I asked for lime leaf because I wanted to try it. Then they offered what kind of sambal I wanted. Even though I already said geprek chicken rice, wouldn't the sambal automatically be geprek sambal? So lazy to repeat myself😌

I first knew about Geprek Yoi from Threads, the owner likes to update about their daily selling routine, until Geprek Yoi appeared on my TikTok FYP. And once they shared a fried chicken marination recipe, I recooked it and it suited my palate. Accidentally passing by a Geprek Yoi outlet, I stopped by to buy it. Today onion sambal & matah sambal were available. After a journey home of about an hour or so, I tried this Geprek Yoi. As for the chicken, I liked it soooo much, honestly the flour crunch/crispiness is really good, usually for this price in under an hour it would already be a bit tough and soggy. The onion and matah sambal are sooooo good. The onion sambal is predominantly slightly spicy, and the matah is quite fresh. As for the rice, well it's just like regular white rice. My hope is that Geprek Yoi can provide dine-in options in the future ❤️
