Last Saturday, I was hanging out in the BCBD area of Bekasi, looking for a place to have an early dinner. My friend had recommended a ramen spot, but it turned out to be closed for renovations. As we were walking by the lake, we came across a Bittersweet by Najla. I remembered they had recently launched a new savory menu featuring rice with chicken and jukut goreng (crispy fried greens), a departure from their famous dessert boxes. So, we decided to give it a try for dinner. The place itself is quite small, and we ended up getting a table in their outdoor area. I ordered the rice with cheesy chicken, crispy fried greens, and the level 1 sambal (chili paste). My friend ordered the same dish but added an extra egg and braved the level 3 sambal. The food was genuinely delicious. The boneless chicken was smothered in savory cheese, and the combination with the sambal was perfect. The jukut goreng was also incredibly savory and crispy. My only real critique is that the portion size was a bit too small. However, with a price tag of around 30,000 IDR, you can't really expect a huge meal. Overall, their new savory menu is definitely worth trying. For my next meal from there, I'll probably just order it online and enjoy it at home.

Small outlet but spacious, has indoor (non-smoking; AC) and outdoor (smoking) areas. The staff have good manners and are also kind. Their lychee tea is my fav here, and for dessert I do like their eclairs. One thing that I hope would be improved: please provide a stainless spoon or another kind of better spoon for dine-in options of cold dessert (especially a hardened one like eclairs, or dessert box). The plastic spoon that is usually provided is way too frail and easily broken (i think it’s quite unsafe).

honestly, kinda overrated. the only good thing about this place is the view. it's kinda relaxing sitting on the sofa by the lake, but other than that, the food, drink, etc are just ok or even kinda disappointing. the chicken batter was hard, and it's kinda overpriced.

The place is comfortable and peaceful, next to a lake, we can enjoy the food while watching the lake. The cake was delicious but indeed a lil bit too sweet for some people, getting 1 slice of cake for 2 persons would be great, the coffee is delicious. It also offers you some big meals, but I haven’t tried it yet.

Always love their desserts and cookies. Swiss Choco Rolls is rich, Choco Eclair tastes nice and not too sweet. As for the drinks, they are just okay. Next time I’d like to try the main meals here. The ambience is really cool especially in the afternoon if you have the lake facing table. (Normally it’s queuing during weekends tho)
