Tried Mandarin Restaurant and honestly, the portions are HUGE! It’s a bit pricey, but definitely worth it because the servings are so generous. I’d recommend coming with more than two people—it’s more of a family-style restaurant where you can share everything. We tried the Best Seller Kangkung Hotplate Beef, and they were soooo good. Please keep these dishes on the menu for the next seven generations because they’re absolutely worth coming back for!

Magnificent Chinese food offering with generous portion. Food is tasty and flavourful, boasting not fancy and flashy Instagramable dish but humble delicious old school dish that we remember during childhood. Fu yung hai is soft and chunky with great chew in every bite, kangkung hot plate is delicious and beef is soft and flavourful. Yi fu mie is crunchy and the mix gravy is filled with loads of ingredients and seasoned well. A go to place to have a great Chinese food when visiting Lembang.

My husband, my son, and I visited this well known restaurant for the first time last Sunday for dinner, expecting a pleasant family experience. We understand that weekends are busy and we are happy to be patient when a restaurant is crowded because we ourself belong to the hospitality industry. However, what happened during our visit was VERY DISAPPOINTING. Our order was taken at around 6:30 PM. By 7:00 PM, we were still waiting for our food, while two tables that arrived after us had already been served and were eating. Our order was also quite simple: 2 plain rice, 1 Chapchay vegetable, and 1 seafood nasi goreng, so the DELAY was difficult to understand. Long waiting times can happen during peak hours, but serving later-arriving customers before those who ordered earlier is UNACCEPTABLE unless there is a clear explanation. We felt overlooked, and no staff member informed us about the delay or apologized. A restaurant's reputation is built not only on the quality of its food but also on FAIRNESS, communication, and customer service. I hope the management reviews its order handling process so that other guests don't have a similar experience. Unfortunately, our first visit did not leave a good impression.

Of course the highlight dish from this restaurant is without a doubt the Kangkung Hotplate Cah Sapi. It is clearly amazing served hot directly from kitchen to table. The soup base is savory and full of umami and the kangkung pairs really well with the beef as well as the quail eggs. This is a must eat as I saw all tables ordering this exact dish. Eating this with a plate of hot rice and sambal really hits your tastebuds so well. I also ordered the Gurame Asem Manis. Which is not bad at all. Pretty good. Wish there was a bit more sauce though. I've visited this restaurant multiple times before and other dishes that are worthy of trying is the Udang Gulung Ham and Ayam Nanking. Both really well made food. Atmosphere is great. Full of locals. Parking can be quite difficult. I parked quite a distance away from the restaurant and had to walk there. This restaurant is usually super crowded during weekends but a reservation is not required as tables tend to be ready quick. Eating here with Lembang's cool atmosphere as well as the free hot tea makes an overall lovely dining experience. Definitely would recommend for everyone visiting Lembang. This restaurant was the reason I visited Lembang anyways. 🍽
