Revisiting Daeng Tata after so many years was a gentle reminder of why this place has endured. The flavors remain remarkably consistent, just as I remember them from fifteen years ago, which is not something many restaurants can honestly claim. The Konro is still beautifully deep and comforting, the Tata Ribs tender and well-seasoned, and the Es Pisang Ijo continues to be a refreshing, nostalgic finish to the meal. Everything tastes reassuringly familiar, in the best possible way. There is something quietly reassuring about a restaurant that does not chase trends, but instead preserves its identity with care. Daeng Tata does exactly that — offering food that feels timeless rather than dated. A dependable choice for anyone who appreciates well-kept traditions and honest flavors.
View on GoogleI must say that I'm very much disappointed in the recent quality of their food. I used to came here whenever I'm craving for the grilled ribs but last night I paid a visit and ordered Tata Ribs. The food came look like this, seemed somewhat overcooked, looks like they fry the ribs first and then grilled it, not sure. The taste are noticeably downgrading from the first time I tried this dish. But the Coto Makassar is ok, although they ran out of Burasa and Ketupat at that time.
View on GoogleGood ribs at a reasonable price. The portion was quite fulfilling for adults. I love their red fried rice, it feels very authentic. Located not far from Kota Kasablanka shopping mall, a parking lot is available around the restaurant. They have good dessert options also, such as iced green banana. There's an outdoor area and also an air conditioned indoor area. If you're looking for tender grilled ribs, look no further.
View on GoogleYummy grilled ribs with local spices from Makassar. Ordered some of their specialties: Tata Ribs, Nasi Goreng Merah Spesial and Sop Saudara. They're all yummy, but... it needs just a little kick for Nasi Goreng Merah Spesial, it's good but needs maybe one or two to be as good as Nasi Goreng Chinese coz the taste is very similar. As for the restaurant, need make over on your back entrance area, it's just smells so bad and disgusting. It's wet all the time...
View on GoogleTried the Konro, it was delicious. Price was super affordable for 2 pieces of large ribs for only 60K. The atmosphere and the dining room needed major improvement for it started to look very dated. They also need to improve the overall cleanliness of the place. The service was good and the employees seemed warm and enthusiastic.
