⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LOBO RESTAURANT - RITZ CARLTON JAKARTA MEGA KUNINGAN Been a while since my last visit to the beautiful Lobo at The Ritz-Carlton Mega Kuningan—back this time for their Brunch After Dark, a Wednesday evening affair combining a generous semi-buffet with a free-flow, made-to-order à la carte menu. The buffet covers everything from seafood on ice, sushi & sashimi to cold cuts, cheeses, breads, and desserts, accompanied by live music and a cocktail trolley serving Espresso & Lychee Martinis. The real highlight, though, is the free-flow à la carte menu. The Crispy Pork Belly was a pleasant surprise with perfectly crisp crackling, while the Seafood Linguine, Salmon, Striploin, and Fideuà were all nicely executed. My favorites 👑 were the Mushroom & Black Truffle Risotto—rich, creamy, and generously finished with fresh black truffle—and their signature Angus Beef Wellington, incredibly juicy with buttery pastry, mushroom duxelles, blue cheese sauce, and beef jus. So good we ordered another portion! Finished with pralines, cakes, panna cotta, molten lava cake, and even liquid nitrogen ice cream. A solid dinner buffet where the free-flow à la carte selection really sets it apart. Brunch After Dark, every Wednesday at Lobo.

I visited Lobo for their Sunday Brunch buffet, which offers a slightly different experience compared to most hotel buffets I've tried. Instead of having all the main dishes available at the buffet station, you order them directly from the menu and they're cooked fresh. It's an interesting concept that helps maintain food quality, and honestly, several of the dishes were excellent. The standout for me was definitely the pan-seared salmon. Crispy skin, perfectly cooked fish, and a delicious sauce that tied everything together. The tortellini and rigatoni were also very enjoyable, although the risotto was slightly undercooked. The foie gras was another highlight. As for the buffet selection itself, it's not particularly large, but there are some premium offerings including Jamón Ibérico, smoked salmon, a variety of cheeses, sushi, sashimi, cold seafood, and more. A useful tip: you can ask the staff to grill the seafood for you, which makes the lobster and other shellfish even more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the pizza and desserts were fairly average and didn't leave much of an impression. Where the experience fell short was the service. I arrived early because the reservation app stated that the buffet started at 11 AM, but it actually began at 12 PM. Although I was the first guest seated and was allowed to wait inside, I wasn't among the first tables asked for my à la carte orders, nor did my dishes arrive first. Some items took an exceptionally long time to arrive, which became frustrating during the meal. One final note: I became unwell for several days afterward, and the oysters were the most likely cause based on what I ate. While I can't confirm this with certainty, it unfortunately impacted my overall impression of the experience. Overall, the freshly prepared main courses were the strongest part of the meal, but the slow service, limited buffet selection, and post-meal experience made it difficult to fully enjoy what could have been a much better dining experience.

This buffet restaurant has a slightly different concept compared to hotel buffets I’ve tried. Instead of all the main dishes being ready on the buffet table, u need to order the main course. Kinda interesting and a bit different. The buffet selection itself isn’t that big, so the options are a bit limited. But the main course I ordered was really good and nicely cooked. The only downside is the waiting time for the main course was quite long, so you need a bit of patience. Overall still a nice experience.
