We came here for the ramen and left happy. The Aomori Ramen is worth ordering! The curry-miso broth is rich and flavorful, nothing like the standard stuff you find everywhere. It’s their signature dish for a reason. The real standout though? The takoyaki. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, with a generous filling. Exactly what takoyaki should be. We also got yakitori and loved the fragrant smoke and flavor. We ordered 7 dishes total and everything landed well. The agedashi tofu was good, the gyoza (and the sauce) hit, the salad was fresh. The service was warm and attentive without being pushy, which I appreciate. They clearly know what they’re doing. The ochazuke was the only thing that didn’t impress, nothing special about it, honestly. But it’s a minor miss in an otherwise solid meal. If you’re in the Kuningan area and craving good Japanese food, this is worth a trip.
View on GoogleI used to visit Aomori Shokudo quite often when my office was still in Plaza Kuningan. It's located on Jl. Karbela No. 1, Setiabudi, only a few minutes away from the office area, making it one of my favorite lunch spots back then. One thing I always order is their Naruto Takoyaki. It's honestly one of my favorite takoyaki in Jakarta—the outside is perfectly crispy while the inside stays soft, fluffy, and creamy. Exactly how takoyaki should be. Another side dish I keep coming back for is their Japanese-style grilled corn. It's simple, lightly charred, buttery, and incredibly addictive. I've also tried a couple of their ramen over the years. 🍜 Tsugaru Tori Shoyu Ramen became my usual order because I'm a huge fan of light, clean broths. I normally go for shio ramen whenever it's available, but since they don't have one, this shoyu version was the closest to my preference. The chicken-based broth is comforting without feeling too heavy, making it an easy lunch option. 🍜 I was also curious enough to try their Hakodate Ramen because it contains Carolina pepper. While I really liked the roast beef topping, the broth itself wasn't really my style. It was much richer and nuttier than I expected, and as someone who prefers lighter ramen, it felt a bit too heavy for my taste. Overall, Aomori Shokudo is still one of the Japanese restaurants I genuinely enjoyed visiting during my office days. The ramen selection is solid, but for me, it's the Naruto Takoyaki that keeps stealing the spotlight. Even now, that's the one menu item I'd recommend ordering without hesitation. 🐙🍜✨
View on Googlecomfy place to get ramen-dateu! not too loud even in the middle of kuningan! the ramen was good 🫶🏼
View on GoogleBeen a fan of their food since day 1 but their tantan tsukemen surprise me a lot. For being halal, the tsukemen are incredible and full of umami. Definitely japanese taste. For first timers, the aomori ramen are a must try - uniquely north japan ramen
View on GoogleGetting to this ramen place was such an adventure (not the fun kind). The access road was super narrow, and half the time I wasn’t even sure if I was going the right way. Parking was even worse. There were no clear signs or staff around, so I ended up just guessing where to park. The vibe was nice I suppose, small and cozy, like your typical Japanese restaurant. The ramen was actually really good! The broth hit the spot, though the noodles were a bit thicker than I prefer. I later found out you can ask for thin noodles, but the waitress didn’t mention that, so too bad for me. I also tried the takoyaki, decent flavor, but the filling was tiny compared to how big the ball was. I had to eat each one in two bites, and honestly, all the filling was gone after the first bite, leaving me with just dough on the second, lol. Overall, good food and nice atmosphere, but the location and parking situation might stop me from coming back :(
