I recently ordered Khao Soi, a Northern Thai dish (popular in Chiang Mai and beyond) that isn’t commonly found in Jakarta. Surprisingly, the taste was quite similar to the Khao Soi I had in Chiang Mai. However, there’s one improvement I suggest: while in Chiang Mai typically serves Khao Soi with condiments like lime, shallots, and Thai pickles. However, this place only offers lime. To enhance the dining experience, I recommend adding shallots and Thai pickles as condiments. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with ample seating. The service was excellent; the waitress inquired about my food and suggested areas for improvement. Overall, this Thai restaurant is solid!
View on GoogleOne of the better Thai restaurants around. Tried the beef pad kaprao and it was overall really good. The beef portion was generous and the mix of chili, basil, and spices was on point. Only small note: the fried egg could be improved, the yolk was a bit overcooked. Also ordered the garlic fried chicken. You get 4 pieces and they’re all quite big. They used thigh meat so it was juicy, and the garlic flavor really absorbed into the chicken. The only downside is it came out a bit too oily, probably would be better if it was drained a bit more before serving. Easy to reach by MRT or TJ, so the location is pretty convenient. Overall a solid Thai spot if you’re around Benhil.
View on GoogleI ordered the Pad Thai Goong, and it was surprisingly delicious. It had a great balance of flavors—slightly sweet, a little tangy with that signature Thai taste, and just a mild level of spiciness. The crushed peanuts added a nice texture and complemented the dish really well. I also tried the Thai Milk Tea. I was told it doesn't contain added sugar and is made with milk instead. We all know many Thai milk tea brands in Indonesia use similar tea blends, but this one tasted much better. It was rich, creamy, and very satisfying. Considering the portion size and price, it's definitely worth it. The service was excellent as well. A staff member named Rasya Siti Aisyah was very friendly and informative. She helped me sign up for the membership program so I could get a discount and also explained the other rewards and benefits that I can redeem. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!
