Feeling notalgic I took my kids to this venue since its one of few XX1 cinema located not inside a mall or plaza but rather a standalone building. However maintainance have always been an issue in this kind of establishment..its dilapidated and crowd gather outside sitting in sidewalk and curb since no stools avail, plastic trash and drink bottles just laid everywhere. The inside condition where ticketing booth and refreshments are better, they seem to have done some refurbishment but in the theatre itself unfortunately feel bland and the smell is rather damp. Turning a moment where I hope my kids have a great and memorable experience to become a rather dull one. Sadly for such a heritage building at least for 90's generation like me it became a dull experience for my kids to actually said this will be the first and last time they want to see a movie here.

Had a great experience at Hollywood XXI Gatot Subroto thanks to Aisyah. She was very friendly, helpful, and professional throughout. Her service really made the visit more enjoyable. Hope to see more staff like her!

Written on Feb 14, 2024. Had its heyday back in the 90s up until the early 2000s, when there was a Planet Hollywood cafe right under the theatre's building. Now, with the cafe gone —long gone, it is one of few theatre-only establishments in the city. Found two negative assessments when I visited. First, it is not disability-friendly. The one and only main entrance leads directly to a two flights stairway, and there's no elevator or ramp that I could find. Second, there's a musholla in the basement, but, it was out of service due to a technical problem, the water pump broke, and water flooded the room. I had to walk ~5 minutes to the next building for prayers. Nonetheless, I'm glad that they are still in business. I came during an off-day for general and presidential elections, and the place was packed in the afternoon and night. People are still willing to visit for their ticket price, which is in the "cheap" category, while keeping the service, cleanliness, and quality facilities of the movie chain's standards. Also, the place is within walking distance from the Widya Chandra (formerly Gatot Subroto LIPI) TransJakarta shelter. The parking lot is also spacious, both for motorcycles and cars.

Good Place and Good Ambiance, Completed with the Cafe and Seats. for introvert, you can seat in their each quiet corner. Hollywood XXI is the best place if you want focus to watch the movie only. Very Affordable Price and you can enjoy your favorite movie anytime

This place has been a favorite of mine since my college days—definitely one of the legendary XXI cinemas in Jakarta. The studios are always clean and comfortable, making every movie experience enjoyable. Ticket prices are also more affordable than most mall-based cinemas, since this is a standalone spot—perfect for those who just want to watch a movie and leave. The car parking area is spacious, which is a big plus. There’s also motorcycle parking, but it feels a bit neglected—it’s located in a basement area that gets pretty dark at night.
