If you're a foreigner and this is your first time in Indonesia, you have to visit this resto & café. They have various kinds of Indonesian traditional food, and I can say that all of the food tastes like how it's supposed to taste. I mean, it's authentic and good. Even though the price is a little bit higher than the food that you can get at street food vendors, but hey! Trust me, you'll get a good deal and a proper place to eat. I recommend this to all foreigners who want to know how Indonesian food tastes. Plus, the djournal coffee also offers a great taste of local coffee, with some Nusantara drink options that contain Indonesian-inspired flavored coffee.

My Filipino tongue had to endure (and enjoy) the spicy nasi goreng dish that has a dried chili flakes. Loved every bite of it despite my sweating. I would love to come back and try their other dishes. I had a moderately sweet iced lychee tea, a bestseller. It was a bit difficult to communicate with some of the staff because of language barrier bur we managed to agree in the end that I wanted a chocolate roti to go.

The Mie Godog was an absolute revelation! As I took my first spoonful, I was greeted with a bowl of steaming, aromatic broth that was rich in flavor. The combination of succulent shredded chicken and fresh vegetables immersed in the savory broth was a heavenly delight. The noodles were perfectly cooked and soaked up the flavors of the broth, creating a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. To add a bit of zest, the crispy fried shallots and fresh lime juice provided a delightful contrast to the comforting warmth of the broth. Next up was the Nasi Sambal Matah, and it was truly a symphony of flavors on a plate. The fragrant white rice was complemented by the vibrant colors of the assorted side dishes. The star of the show was the Sambal Matah, a traditional Balinese condiment made from shallots, lemongrass, chili, and coconut oil. Its aromatic and slightly spicy profile gave the dish a real kick that lingered on the palate, leaving a pleasant heat without overpowering the other elements. The perfectly grilled chicken, which was tender and infused with the flavors of the sambal, was a revelation on its own. Accompanying it were delectable sides like fried peanuts, boiled eggs, and fresh cucumber slices, adding a delightful variety of textures and tastes to the dish.
