Visited Su Wah. Their 🇭🇰 Hong Kong cuisine ad it was very delicious! Try out their curried chicken rice or the stir-fried beehoon. Their char siu bakpao and dimsum are very popular and good. Their milk tea is very special, its appearance is like it’s overflowing onto the plate. Their staff was friendly and service was good, quick and efficient and also knowledgeable. Overall, I had a very nice experience here. Would highly recommend this.

Had a great dining experience at Suji Suan Cai Yu, Pacific Place. The food was delicious, especially the signature suan cai yu—the broth was flavorful with a perfect balance of sour and spicy, and the fish was fresh and tender. What made the experience even better was the service. The staff were very kind, friendly, and attentive throughout the meal. They were welcoming from the moment we arrived and happy to help with recommendations. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and perfect for sharing a meal with friends or family. Would definitely come back again. Highly recommended! 😊

First time trying suan cai yu, the Sichuan fish soup. Just not my type of comforting soup, too sour. I don't like the numbing sensation from the pepper. I wouldn't come back for the soup, but I wanna try the other dishes. I do love the milk tea. Their kaya toast is also amazing.

If you’re looking for a great mala dining experience, a good restaurant should offer a perfect balance of spice, numbing sensation, and deep umami flavors. A truly excellent mala spot stands out through its use of high-quality Sichuan peppercorns, fresh ingredients, and a broth that’s rich, fragrant, and layered with complexity. The best mala restaurants offer a customizable experience, allowing diners to choose their preferred spice level, ingredients, and broth base. Freshness is key—whether it’s tender meats, crisp vegetables, or handmade tofu, every ingredient should absorb the bold flavors of the broth while maintaining its own texture and integrity. Service also plays a huge role. A well-trained staff that understands the balance of heat and numbing flavors can help guide newcomers and experienced spice lovers alike. Bonus points if they provide thoughtful recommendations on pairings, like cooling drinks or side dishes that complement the heat. Ambience matters, too. A cozy yet vibrant setting with clean tables, good ventilation (to handle the strong chili aromas), and an inviting atmosphere makes the dining experience more enjoyable. Ultimately, a great mala restaurant isn’t just about overpowering spice—it’s about depth, balance, and the joy of sharing a flavorful, fiery meal with friends and family. If a place nails all these aspects, it’s definitely worth returning to.
