Hidden gem tucked away in SCBD Park, on the second floor above Kokos Roti Canai. It’s an understated, Japanese-owned establishment serving proper Japanese fare. The menu features selected fresh sushi, sashimi and hand rolls, as well as a variety of rice bowls, noodles and tempura. We had the salmon and kanpachi sashimi which were served in a generous “bara” (thick cube) style, as well as a spicy maguro handroll which I found delicious. We followed up with our mains of zaru cha-soba, tendon, as well as a side of ebi tempura. I was extremely impressed with the small touches of authenticity, such as the raw quail’s egg served together with the zaru soba. The tempura is also one of, or perhaps the best I’ve eaten in Jakarta. There was the perfect amount of batter and it was fried to perfection. Again with the small touches, the miso soup was also delicious as they used a unique type of seaweed that I rarely see in establishments outside of Japan. I was expecting simple fare to be honest so didn’t think to snap a lot of photos, to my regret, so only the tendon is pictured. Had a very happy dinner with my wife and two young children (who are VERY picky with their Japanese food). My single complaint was that their seasonal special of Hirame sashimi (my favorite) was sold out even though we were the first customer of the night. Will certainly be back!
View on GoogleSpecialized in sushi roll, same group as Kinokawa. All is good, if i may advise to add more Sashimi menu such as cutoro, salmon belly, otoro, negitoro it would be best. The sushi roll package come with big size, choose the 3 kinds is sufficient plus sharing sashimi. I personally love the tuna roll, fresh and yummy.
