Thanks to my friend for bringing me here 🤍 Honestly, this isn’t the type of restaurant that constantly shows up on social media, but it’s really one of those places you should try yourself. In my opinion, they’re really good at yakitori and robatayaki, and basically anything with butter here tastes amazing. Very suitable for the Indonesian palate that loves rich, umami Japanese food. Price-wise, I’m genuinely impressed because it’s actually very affordable. Finding a good Japanese spot in Ashta with delicious food and reasonable prices? Big win. The staff were also super nice and friendly. The place tends to be quieter, so it’s perfect for chill gatherings, long conversations, and relaxed dinners. They also have private rooms for families, plus a speakeasy-style bar inside. The ambiance is definitely on the darker side because of the bar concept, but I’ve also come here during lunchtime and it still feels comfortable for a casual lunch spot.
View on GoogleIt gets busy, so reservations are highly recommended during peak hours. The staff were friendly and attentive. The menu is typical for a Japanese restaurant, but the irori yaki is quite unique. It would be even better if diners could watch the cooking process for that dish. They also have an extensive alcoholic drinks menu, which feels like another standout. I got the impression that the main dining area is smoking, while non-smoking guests are seated in the VIP rooms. That’s a negative for me since I don’t like indoor smoking, especially in an air-conditioned space. Overall, it was a good after-hours experience
View on GoogleI had a great experience at Ryota Robatayaki & Izakaya. The place has a cozy and authentic Japanese vibe, perfect for a relaxed dinner or casual hangout. The atmosphere feels warm and inviting, especially if you enjoy izakaya-style dining. The food was very good, especially the grilled dishes which were flavorful and nicely cooked. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, making the overall experience very satisfying. A nice spot to enjoy Japanese food with a comfortable ambiance and good variety of menu options.
View on GoogleVisited for a birthday dinner, and surprisingly all the food was good. The portions weren’t very big, but the prices weren’t too bad. My highlights were the sushi roll and the smoked duck donabe. Loved the ambience, especially at night. There’s a good amount of space, whether you’re looking for a smoking area or indoor seating.
View on GoogleHad such a great dinner at Ryota Jakarta! We ordered the tantanmen, tori paitan ramen, gyutan donburi, wagyu hamburg donburi, and momo karaage yuzu, and every single dish was delicious. The flavors were rich and comforting, definitely the kind of Japanese izakaya food that keeps you wanting more. Special shoutout to Mba April and Mba Legit who were incredibly kind and even helped us take so many pictures (thank you for the patience 😄). Amazing food and lovely service! Will definitely come back!
