I visited on a Thursday around 6 PM, and the café was almost fully occupied. I ordered the Angel Hair Scallop, and this was SO good! The pasta was flavorful and definitely one of the highlights of my visit. The Spinach Mushroom was also really delicious. It’s quite creamy, with a strong cheesy flavor that I really enjoyed. Definitely a comforting dish if you’re into rich and creamy flavors. For dessert, I tried the Matcha Fondant. The matcha flavor was actually noticeable, especially the bitterness, which I appreciated. However, it was still a little too sweet for my preference, so I think reducing the sweetness would let the matcha shine through even better. Unfortunately, the Matcha Cookies Mochi was a different story. I could barely taste any matcha at all. You can even see it from the details in my photos—the matcha cookie filling and topping are both quite brown, and the matcha flavor itself was basically nonexistent. So if you’re specifically coming here for matcha desserts, I’d definitely choose the Matcha Fondant over the Matcha Cookies Mochi. 🍵 Overall, though, the savory dishes were the real winners for me. The Angel Hair Scallop and Spinach Mushroom are definitely worth trying! ✨

(+) It is located in the heart of a business district. Easily found and accessible using public transportation. (+) They serve variety of pastry, coffee, and surprisingly matcha. They have variety of main dish as well. (+) The pastry that I tried is peanut butter & jelly croissant >> It is flaky, buttery, crunchy, and chewy at the same time. I tasted the jelly more than the peanut butter. So, it is tend to be in the sweeter side. (+) It is a good place for you to have a quick meeting, work from cafe (If you don't have a lot of meeting), and to catch up after work. (-) Located inside a mall/office building. If it is your first time coming here, the access can be confusing. There is no "big" sign directing you to it. But this is more of the ashta problem than bakerman. (-) No smoking area. (-) The space is just okay and it will get crammed pretty fast especially during weekday. (-) For someone who looks for coffee, this is not it. The coffee is subpar. But then again, their main selling point is pastry. (-) Since the place got packed easily, the staff is not that attentive. So, you have to walk to the pastry area or flag them more than once.

I visited Baker Man in Ashta District 8 and decided to try their egg tart. Even though we were already full, we couldn’t resist trying their dessert and it did not disappoint! The egg tart was delicious—perfectly flaky crust with a creamy, smooth filling. The quality and taste were excellent. It’s a great spot to satisfy your sweet tooth if you’re in the area. Highly recommend giving it a try! 😋

My friend bought a duren croissant and ask to keep it there, but it went spoiled. He asked to hold the item for a couple of hours but the item didn’t survive the storage, as the flavour turn sour. He then was compensated the next day with another piece of the duren croissant, free of charge and the server even offered to send one to him to his residence, when technically they don’t really have to. Outstanding service and I totally am impressed by the bakerman team. Keep up the good work. Price is defo worth the service and taste. Not quite for everyday consumption but easily best guilty pleasure/occasional establishment

Bakerman, located in Ashta Mall right next to The Langham SCBD, is a breakfast gem that truly stands out. The ambience is chic and inviting, making it the perfect spot to start your day. Their croissants are absolutely amazing—flaky, buttery, and baked to perfection. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. From coffee to pastries to full breakfast plates, everything is thoughtfully crafted and satisfying. Whether you’re staying nearby or just in the mood for a superb breakfast, Bakerman is a must-visit. A fantastic spot to treat yourself in the middle of Jakarta’s hustle.
