We found out about this place recently & finally we went… and what a treat! we’ve been looking for another roast duck place beside that most famous one & honestly we’ll definitely come back! What we ordered: - Half Roast Duck (they say it’s the Hongkong style… overall for us it tasted the same like the normal Roast Duck, but different sauce… this one is more fluid, not as thick as the known one… we luv it! And this half portion is good, boneless with lots of juicy meats) - Buttersquid (they recommended this & it’s so tasty! So buttery & crispy outside, but yummy inside…) - Mayo prawn (also superb! Nice crispy prawn & delicious mayo…) - Hainan Rice (yummmmm!) Honestly I don’t know how we just found out about this place coz this is our type of food… luv luv the food! And they even gave us the mango pudding as a bonus, nice one too… They also give us a big jar of free refill water… so u don’t even need to order drinks if u only want to drink that… The price is good too! For all of that + 2drinks, we paid around 500K… for this type of food, it’s worth it…

The duck was juicy and tasty. Thank you for letting us tasting it first before deciding which duck we bring home. Our pick was their regular duck (same with the one on my noodle attached). Highlight wud be the noodle - taste kinda similar like ind*mie, but know for sure it wasnt that popular instant noodle.. Pro tips: mixed the noodle with their homemade chili oil, and thank me later :) The salted egg squid also superb! They have collaboration with another brand when we visited them but we didnt got the chair and the collab menu only can be ordered @ the 3rd floor - too bad :(

We ordered the quarter duck and duck on rice for dinner, both were excellent. The duck was perfectly cooked, and the black sauce was rich and flavorful. I also had the broccoli tofu and asparagus crab meat soup. It tasted fresh with generous slices of tofu and crisp broccoli. While the soup was pleasant overall, I was hoping for a bit more depth in flavor. At the end, we received a complimentary avocado pudding, which was a lovely surprise. It was creamy, delicious, and had a strong avocado flavor, absolutely loved it!

Last night after landing from East Kalimantan, I invited Mamie and Donna to enjoy dinner before resting. Donna chose a Chinese restaurant located across from my house. Suck My Duck is a halal Chinese restaurant that is quite popular in Jakarta, especially in Kebayoran Baru/Hang Tuah. The name and concept are quite intriguing because they are a bit eccentric (‘Suck My Duck’), and the interior is designed with a modern oriental feel, cosy and quite Instagram-worthy. The restaurant also has Halal certification from MUI. I ordered a plate of roasted chicken rice while Mamie and Donna each ordered a plate of roasted Hainan chicken. The rice paired with the roasted chicken was delicious, especially after I added a few spoonfuls of chilli oil. The aroma of the spices blended uniquely with the spicy taste of the chilli oil. In my opinion, this restaurant is quite successful in many aspects: the atmosphere and design support a comfortable dining experience, the unique name branding makes people curious, and most of the signature dishes are quite well-crafted—especially the roasted chicken rice and Hainan rice, which combine the soft texture of roasted chicken, slightly crispy skin, spices/sauce that are not too overpowering, and fragrant rice. I like it.
