Adiguna Rasa: The Warteg Elevated to the Heavens You think you know the *warteg*. You picture the fluorescent hum, the steamed-up glass, the glorious, chaotic pile-up of yesterday’s stews over a mountain of rice. It’s a beautiful, democratic mess. Then you walk into **Salira**, and the whole universe shifts. This is *nasi rames* on pure, unadulterated steroids. The concept remains beautifully unchanged: you look through the glass, you point, you choose your own culinary adventure from a rotating daily buffet. But the execution? It’s a masterclass in refinement and razor-sharp service. Every single dish is dialed up to eleven. The side dishes aren’t just afterthoughts; they are revelations. The *soto* is a creamy, deeply aromatic broth that feels like a warm embrace from a Javanese grandmother who happened to train at a three-star Michelin joint. And the *bakwan*? A masterclass in texture—shatteringly crisp corn, light and savory batter with a hint of *rempeyek* spices within. Simple, yet absolutely brilliant. Very few places aim for something this ambitious and proceed to completely shoot the lights out. Salira didn't just break the mold; they perfected it.
View on GoogleWarteg fancy di SCBD! The place, ambience, service, and food are all good! Very good to bring friends, clients here and enjoy elevated Indonesian-warteg. Thanks to Mas Rizky for the great service while i was dining here!
View on GoogleI’ve been in hospitality for years, so it’s rare for a place to genuinely surprise me. Today was one of those occasions that I got surprised. The restaurant was absolutely packed on Friday lunch service, yet nothing felt chaotic. Service flowed effortlessly, the team stayed attentive and genuinely welcoming, and you could feel there was a strong operational culture behind everything happening on the floor. That’s not easy to achieve when every table is full. I came expecting good food because of the reputation, but what arrived exceeded my expectations. Every dish was beautifully presented without feeling overdone, and more importantly, the flavors were outstanding. It wasn’t just visually appealing—it delivered where it mattered most: taste. What impressed me most was the consistency between the operation, the service, and the kitchen. Too often, one shines while another struggles. Here, they all worked together seamlessly. A wonderful dining experience and a great reminder that exceptional hospitality is built on hundreds of small things done right, every single day. We are a fan and will definitely be back. My special note of thank you to Rizky our very attentive and wonderful service person who looked after our table.
View on GoogleSalira offers a great selection of authentic Indonesian dishes with rich flavors and well-balanced seasoning. The food is delicious, savory, and full of traditional homemade tastes. One important tip: reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak hours. I also suggest visiting during regular meal times (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) to enjoy the widest selection of dishes. Based on my experience, I arrived after 2 PM and found that many menu items had already sold out. The next cooking batch was prepared for dinner service, so timing your visit well will help you enjoy more options. The restaurant itself is cozy and comfortable, making it a great place for group dining and family gatherings. Parking can be a bit challenging since the restaurant is located in a busy area. I would recommend using GrabCar or taking advantage of the valet service provided by the management for a more convenient experience. Overall, as an Indonesian living abroad, I had a very satisfying dining experience and would definitely recommend Salira to anyone looking for authentic Indonesian cuisine with plenty of choices I will definitely come back when i am in town next year!
View on GoogleWe visited for breakfast and had a pleasant overall experience. Making a reservation was quick and hassle-free, which made planning our morning easy. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The place itself has a cosy and relaxing ambience, making it a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast and coffee. The presentation of the dishes was excellent, with each item looking thoughtfully prepared and visually appealing. However, we found the flavors to be on the lighter side. While the food was enjoyable, I personally prefer bolder and more robust flavors, and the dishes didn’t quite deliver the depth of taste I was hoping for. Although nothing on the breakfast menu particularly stood out to me from a flavor perspective, the overall dining experience was still pleasant thanks to the comfortable setting, good coffee, and friendly service. For those who enjoy lighter and more delicate flavors, this may be right up your alley.
