I've been eating at Legend of Noodle since the early days of its Senopati branch, back when Senopati was just beginning to establish itself as one of Jakarta's hottest culinary destinations. Around 2010–2020, Senopati entered what I'd call its golden era. The neighborhood quickly became the go-to spot for restaurants, artisan cafés, lounges, and bars, attracting office workers from SCBD, expats, and Jakarta foodies. Back then, it wasn't nearly as crowded as it is today, and Legend of Noodle was already one of the OG Korean-Chinese restaurants that had built a loyal following long before the current hype. I've watched this place evolve over the years. Back then, the menu wasn't nearly as extensive as it is today, but I still remember their Jjamppong looking exactly like the menu photo—loaded with mussels, clams, shrimp, and squid. The broth also had a much stronger wok hei (smoky wok aroma), giving it that authentic smoky flavor that I still miss today. To this day, my go-to order is still the classic trio: 🍜 Pork Jajangmyeon 🍜 Jjamppong 🥩 Original Tangsuyuk to share. The Pork Jajangmyeon is rich, savory, and comforting without being overly salty. The black bean sauce coats every strand of noodle beautifully, while the diced pork adds another layer of flavor. The Jjamppong still delivers a satisfying spicy seafood broth, although I do feel the smoky wok flavor isn't quite as pronounced as it used to be. I've also tried both the Original Tangsuyuk and the Chapssal Tangsuyuk. For those unfamiliar, chapssal means glutinous rice, so the batter has a slightly chewier texture compared to the regular version. Personally, I still prefer the Original Tangsuyuk. I like its crispier bite, and I think it pairs better with the sweet-and-sour sauce. The pork itself is consistently thick, juicy, and incredibly tender—definitely one of the better tangsuyuk you'll find in Jakarta. If you're looking for something even more filling, I'd also recommend the Pork Donkatsu Set. It comes with rice and a bowl of Jjamppong soup, making it a great value for a complete meal. On days when I'm craving something lighter, their Kalguksu is another solid choice with its clean, comforting broth. Even after all these years, Legend of Noodle remains one of my favorite Korean-Chinese restaurants in Jakarta. The menu has expanded, Senopati has transformed dramatically, and the queues have gotten much longer, but this is still one of those restaurants I always find myself coming back to. Some restaurants become popular because they're trendy. Legend of Noodle has stayed relevant because it's consistently good
View on GoogleThe best Jjampong in town. Haemul Jjampong (5/5) Love this so much, big portion, comfort food, hot but not spicy, the seafood is fresh. Must order in here. Chicken Buldak (3.8/5) Well, not fans of chicken buldak. Too oily for me, not spicy better eat with rice. Japchae (4/5) Japchae in here is good, but not special. But overall i like japchae in here. Kimchi banchan in here so good, i like it so much. 2024 i ate in here, many kind of banchan. But last time i ate in here June 2026 i just got 2 kind of banchan. Why? Hahaha This restaurant is super recommended if you want to try Jjampong
View on GoogleOne of the best place to go if you're craving korean chinese food! We had haemul jjampong, bokkeum jjajangmyeon, pork tangsuyuk, and cheese donkatsu. Jjampong was smoky and tasteful as usual, and I liked their bokkeum jjajang better than their original jjajang, it was a burst of flavor! Unfortunately, the bokkuem jjajang didn't come with plenty of protein, it was mostly veggies and onions with higher pricepoint than regular jjajangmyeon. Tangsuyuk was superb as always, love the sweet and sour super sticky sauce. Cheese donkatsu was fine, the cheese was still melty when served, but it was pretty bland if you're not dipping the katsu in the curry sauce. Also you gotta try dumping the white rice from cheese donkatsu set to the remaining bokkeum jjajang sauce, it was super good! Overall this place has been our comfort to go place when we crave classic korean chinese food. Perfect for sharing!
View on GoogleKorean cuisine! Yummy! Its tables are set like in a street food tents, but clean and airconditioned. We tried Jjangmeong pork and Jjampong seafood, they were all great. The black bean paste was blended in balance ingredients. Savory but refreshing. The Jjampong seafood had tasty soup and perfectly cooked with the vegwtabkea and seafood. Freeflow corn tea and kimchi made it even better. Recommended.
View on GoogleCame here for the Jjampong Bab (spicy seafood soup with rice) and it did not disappoint — rich, bold broth with generous seafood. Really solid Korean comfort food. The side dishes were a highlight too. Kimchi was spot on, and the onion with black bean paste was addictive. Little details like these show the kitchen actually cares about getting it right. After the meal they brought out fresh fruit and coffee, which was a nice touch. Felt genuinely looked after. Also a great spot to catch up with colleagues over Soju — relaxed vibe, good food, easy to stay for hours.
