Got recommended to this place by a friend, loved the atmosphere of the place and of course the food itself. As for the place, the centerpiece Bonsai and the round bar tables are the highlight of the location. The waitress that served us was very professional and friendly; shoutout to Veren who gave us top notch service. This place is suitable for casual lunch or fancy dinners. Portion is abit small for large parties; won't be enough unless you order more ($$$). However, after my first try I definitely would recommend this place to friends and family. Would come back here again.

Came to try Gokuniku, a new premium Japanese shabu-shabu / sukiyaki restaurant located in the heart of Senopati for Saturday dinner after hearing some solid reviews from friends. Interior boasts modern and traditional Japanese decor, with several highlights like the floating bonsai and central communal table - although the overall layout is a bit awkward. Menu is straightforward - pick your soup set, meat cuts and top it off with additional side dishes. We opted for the Sukiyaki with Togarashi and Katarosu cuts. The soup had a deep sweet flavor without being too overpowering and the leaner meat cuts were extremely tender and tasty. The chopped chillies on the side give each bite an extra spicy kick when you want it. We also ordered the Aftermath Cheese Risotto - which rounded up the meal nicely. Staff and service were friendly, helpful and attentive. While the staff helped cook the meats properly - it felt a little rushed and would be nice if we could get the meats cooked and served at our own pace instead of the cooked meats piling up on our bowls all at once. However, I’m sure if we mentioned it, the staff would have gladly accommodated for it. Reservations were easy, and overall dining experience was positive. Looking forward to the next visit!

Great Sukiyaki restaurant. However it is recommended to dine with maximum 2 or 4 pax at the main dining hall. Private room setup will be a bit tricky when not everyone in the group orders the same soup (tomato/Sukiyaki/shabu). Pricey but good quality of beef
