Just came back from Seoul and was so happy to find this spot that sells salt bread! The aesthetic of this spot was very reminiscent of the cafe culture in Korea, and the salt bread tasted just as great. They had a good variety of options ranging from the original salt bread to more unique ones like the gyeran mayo salt bread. We ordered the iced earl grey matcha and iced cashew latte—both of which weren’t too sweet. Everything is reasonably priced + great service. Highly recommend!

I've been to Mongsim four times—first shortly after they opened, then during the hype when the crowd had started to calm down a little, another visit during Ramadan this year, and finally another visit to actually get their Dubai Chewy Cookie. 😂 Mongsim is one of those Korean bakeries that became really popular after winning the Korea Bakery Awards, especially for their salt bread. When they first opened, salt bread was THE thing. 😂 Before the Dubai chewy cookie era, everyone was chasing salt bread, and suddenly every bakery seemed to have their own version. I remember the queue during their early days being pretty long, with quite a few Korean expat moms also lining up. Her salt bread was so hyped that they even had a purchase limit per person at the time—I honestly forgot how many pieces you were allowed to buy. 😂 Across my four visits, I've tried quite a few things: Salty Choco Financier, Lemon Madeleine, Original Salt Bread, Dubai Chewy Cookie, Pecan Praline Madeleine, Churros Financier, Crispy Rice Salt Bread, Super Garlic Salt Bread, Gyeran Mayo Salt Bread, Breakfast Tart, Jambon Beurre, and Creamy Pesto Chicken Sandwich. And after trying that many things, my personal favorite is still the Jambon Beurre. I really love the combination of the cold butter and sliced ham, especially with their bread. The bread has that hard, crusty exterior but stays soft and chewy in the middle, which is exactly my kind of bread. I'm definitely someone who prefers properly crusty, hard bread over soft fluffy bread, so this one really works for me. For the salt bread, my favorites are Super Garlic Salt Bread and Crispy Rice Salt Bread. The garlic one has that savory, garlicky kick, while the crispy rice gives a really nice texture contrast to the buttery salt bread. And of course, their Lemon Madeleine is another favorite of mine. 🍋 I love the bright citrusy flavor—it feels refreshing compared to some of their richer pastries. But one of my recent visits this year was actually a little frustrating because I specifically came to try their Dubai Chewy Cookie. I arrived around 7:30 AM, but it wasn't ready yet. When I asked the staff, they told me it would be ready at 9 AM. Since I had time, I decided to stay, enjoy their breakfast sandwich, and wait for it. Then 9 AM came, I asked again... And suddenly they told me it would only be ready at 10 AM. 😭 Like... I had already waited until 9 based on the information they gave me, and then suddenly I had to wait another hour. 😂 I don't mind waiting if I'm told the correct time from the beginning, but changing the timing after I've already waited was definitely frustrating. But at least I eventually came back and got to try the Dubai Chewy Cookie. 😂 So after all that waiting, I can finally say I've tried it! After four visits, I'd say Mongsim still has quite a few things I'd happily come back for—especially Jambon Beurre, Super Garlic Salt Bread, Crispy Rice Salt Bread, and Lemon Madeleine. The Dubai Chewy Cookie was definitely worth trying because of the hype, but my personal favorites at Mongsim are still their classic breads and pastries. 🥐✨

For a wannabe coffee lovers i would say that their coffee is okay nothing special for me, their iced dark chocolate is mid in my personal opinion. Unfortunately the bread in the sandwich i order is “hard”. But their pastry is delightful. Love the atmosphere and their ambience, i would recommend if you wanna do “work from cafe” you can go hear! Overall i would say its worth the price but not my favorite place to grab a cup of coffee

I understand the concept of cold sandwiches, but your bread…. uneatable. So tough, so dry, that it hurts my teeth! Second picture is proof i didn’t eat it. I can only eat the toppings. The place itself actually pretty nice, lots of natural lightings going on, power socket is on all tables too, staff was okay. If it wasn’t for the rock-hard bread… i might wanna come again.

Quick brunch at this bakery near home. It looks small from the outside but is actually very spacious with three floors, two for dining. I came mainly for the salt bread and wasn’t disappointed. There are many options—from savory to sweet. I tried the Kim Tuna Bread, Garlic Bread, and OG Salt Bread, plus the Choco Fancier, Egg Tart, and the viral Dubai Chewy Bomb (totally worth the hype). Kim Tuna Bread was my favorite for breakfast, OG salt bread reminded me of Seoul-style bakeries, and the Dubai Chewy Bomb was a must-try. Service was fast and polite, with reasonably priced valet parking. Would definitely come back to try more.
