I feel like this is one of those OG Korean restaurants in Jakarta that's been around forever and somehow still survives until today. 😂 If you often hang around Pangpol (Panglima Polim), you probably know this place—the location is super strategic, right on the corner near the traffic light, so it's pretty hard to miss. I've actually been coming here since the 2010s, back when Korean food wasn't nearly as mainstream as it is now. Their menu leans quite heavily towards Korean chicken dishes, but I've tried quite a few things over the years. 🍲 Samgyetang — super comforting, especially because there's glutinous rice stuffed inside the chicken. The broth is warm and soothing, exactly the kind of thing I want when I'm craving something comforting. 🥶 Bibim Naengmyeon — cold, chewy noodles tossed in a spicy, tangy sauce. A nice option when you want something refreshing rather than another heavy dish. 🐔 Boneless Chicken Feet — MY FAVORITE. If you're into chicken feet but don't want to deal with the bones, definitely get this. The texture is tender and chewy, and it's one of the dishes that keeps me coming back. 🦆 Smoked Duck — another personal favorite. The duck has that smoky, savory flavor and a nice juicy texture that makes it surprisingly addictive. Overall, this is one of those old-school Korean restaurants that has managed to stick around while Jakarta's Korean food scene has changed so much. It's not necessarily the trendy Korean spot you'll see all over social media these days, but I've been coming back since the 2010s, and that says enough. 😂 And honestly, boneless chicken feet + smoked duck are still my reasons to come back
View on GoogleOh, I absolutely love their gochumaneul chicken! So crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the sweet-spicy sauce makes it perfecttt. I also ordered dakbal and jjajangmyeon, and I was honestly surprised by how huge the jjajangmyeon portion was 😭 Definitely worth it if you’re coming hungry! One thing to note: after 10 PM, both the first and second floors become smoking areas.
View on GoogleI tried their samgyetang and cheese dak galbi. To be honest, this is not my best korean food experience. I enjoyed the samgyetang a lot, because it is so mild, fresh, and rightly seasoned. But I did not enjoy the cheese dak galbi so much because the sauce is not my usual type. All the side dishes are great, but a little too oily. Great vibe and great services tho!
View on GoogleThis place deserves to be top of mind whenever people crave authentic Korean dishes. I’ve been wanting to visit Dago for quite some time, and when I finally did, it was worth the wait. Almost everything I ordered was impressive, both in portion and taste, especially the gochumaneul chicken, gimbap, and jjajangmyeon, which were absolute standouts. The only slight letdown was the dak galbi; it wasn’t as extraordinary as I had hoped, with a relatively small portion and more onions than chicken. That said, I’d still happily come back to explore other items on the menu, and, of course, to order the gochumaneul chicken again ;)
View on GoogleAmbience: we came here on Saturday at almost midnight for supper. It was quite crowded but that was ok. It is indoor yet people smoke there, not sure whether they have non smoking room or not. Food: 1. Gochumaneul Chicken: so crunchy and perfectly seasoned! Sweet and spicy, very flavorful and addictive. I could not eat spicy food, but I kept fighting for this one because it was that good. Since I was able to eat this (with a lot of water), I would say that this was only mildly hot. 2. Dak Kal Guksu: very authentic broth that tasted so healthy, most definitely from real chicken broth. The shredded chicken was nice and fresh too 3. Gimbap: nice and tasty, great to complement all the other dish 4. Sunsal Fried Chicken: savory and easy to eat since it was boneless 5. Ori Hunje Gui: tasty and really smoky, the meat was tender We got free appetizers of a variety of dish like kimchi, caramelized yam, etc. Also free iced tea pitcher. Service: it was crowded so the staff was overwhelmed and tend to forget our requests multiple times
