Ko Po Thai has been one of my favorite Thai fusion restaurants since it first opened in the old Pasar Raya Blok M building. I highly recommend the Ko Yum Noodle if you prefer noodle soup, or the Po Yum Noodle if you like dry noodles. Both dishes feature an authentic Thai tom yum flavor that has been slightly adjusted to suit the Indonesian palate. In my opinion, the level of sourness is well balanced, although I think it would taste even better with an extra squeeze of lime. The portion is just right for one person, and the shrimp were fresh. Another dish I ordered was the Supreme Beef Krapao, which comes with steamed rice, an omelet, and Thai-style minced beef. The rice was cooked on the softer side, the omelet was well done, and the star of the dish was definitely the minced beef. It was packed with flavor, with a delicious combination of sweet, savory, and slightly salty notes. It’s another comforting choice if you’re in the mood for a rice dish. Overall, this restaurant is a great option if you’re visiting Blok M and can’t decide where to eat, especially if you’re craving authentic Thai-inspired cuisine.
