Had a wonderful dining experience here. Everything we had was great, though some more than others. Would recommend the truffle potato pancake and the truffle tteokbokki; both were flavorful without being overbearing. The potato pancake was cheesy and crisp without being oily, while the tteokbokki was creamy yet light, and the texture of the tteok was soft and chewy rather than firm, almost like gnocchi. For the meat selection, the LA galbi was the best out of the 3 kinds we tried. The meat was tender and easy to cut even with a spoon, and while the flavor was good, it was nothing special either. The spicy pork moksal was also tender but the sauce was too sweet for my liking; it tasted almost like charsiu but with a mild spicy kick. The pork belly sooyuk was relatively better; the sauce also had a sweetness to it but much less than the moksal, and the meat was also tender though more fatty of course. For the carbs, do note all the dishes are very generously portioned and each dish can be split between 2-3 people, so be careful not to order too much. The perilla buckwheat noodles was refreshing, the kimchi fried rice was flavorful but standard, and the gochujang butter bibimbap was a bit too creamy for my liking (definitely split it, you might get sick of it fast if you eat it by yourself). For dessert, we had the chapsal cake which was chewy and not too sweet, with hints of cinnamon/brown sugar taste. For drinks, I’d recommend the samda tangerine tea from osulloc, which had a light flavor and delicate citrusy fragrance, and wasn’t bitter at all even without sugar.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BANJOO - WOLTER MONGINSIDI Finally got the chance to try this modern Korean restaurant that had been on my list for quite some time, and overall, it was a really satisfying experience with a refreshing modern take on Korean comfort food. The Truffle Potato Pancake was a great starter — super crispy, not oily at all, topped with beef bacon, parmesan, and rich truffle mayo that paired beautifully with the crunchy texture. Their Budae Jjigae was another highlight: a rich, creamy, cheesy broth loaded with ramyeon, luncheon meat, sausage, beef slices, and kimchi, yet surprisingly not too heavy. Extremely comforting and well balanced. My favorite of the night was definitely the SooYuk. The pork was juicy, tender, deeply flavorful, and melted beautifully in the mouth without feeling overly fatty. Loved pairing it with the daikon pickle and perilla leaves. The Black Sesame Ice Cream was also surprisingly impressive — instead of the usual overpowering black sesame flavor, this one had a richer milky base with generous roasted black sesame throughout, giving it a deep nutty aroma and texture. The Bulgogi Perilla Pasta had an interesting concept and nice pasta texture, although personally I felt the burnt aroma slightly overpowered the perilla and didn’t blend as well with the bulgogi. Meanwhile, the makgeolli leaned a bit too sour for my preference. Still, I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a more unusual and modern interpretation of Korean favorite dishes. The execution, creativity, and overall dining experience were genuinely enjoyable.

Overall overhyped, won’t be back. Several things unavailable on a Sunday before the lunch rush - acorn salad, pasta, perilla oil for the noodles. Food was just average and portion was tiny for the price they are charging - can get much better at a lower price elsewhere. The only outstanding was the shortribs. Kitchen was also slow between dishes even though the restaurant was far from full capacity. Sadly I won’t be coming again even though I initially came to try the pasta and perilla noodles.

First impression was great! Staff are friendly and quite communicative. We tried the spicy oxtail, while the staff was telling us it's quite big for 2 person. But we still ordered it tho coz it looks nice. When it came, it wasn't that huge. The portion was okay for 2 person! And i have to say, it's really recommended to try the spicy oxtail!! It's really yumm!! 👌🏼

KOREAN BISTRO ON THE ROLL BanJoo pique our interest from early on with interesting take on korean menu. Love the doenjang pasta (strong taste lover) bulgogi perilla pasta (creamy/nutty lover). Love the complimentary kkakdugi, the lemon really elevates the flavor. Would love to come back to try the meat menu
