It had been a very long time since my last visit to Duck King, with my previous dining experience at their Kelapa Gading branch. I decided to come back to celebrate my birthday, and I'm so glad I did—it reminded me why I loved this restaurant in the first place. The Boneless Roasted Duck is still the absolute star of the menu. The skin was incredibly crispy with a beautiful golden color, while the meat remained juicy, tender, and packed with rich, savory flavor. Every bite had the perfect balance of crispiness and succulent duck. It is still the best roasted duck in my opinion. The Prawn with Mayonnaise was another highlight. The prawns were large, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The batter was exceptionally light and thin, giving just the right amount of crunch without overpowering the sweetness of the prawns. I also appreciated that the mayonnaise was used in moderation, adding a creamy touch without making the dish feel heavy or overwhelming. The Garlic Tou Miao was cooked perfectly. The vegetables stayed crisp and fresh, with a fragrant garlic aroma that enhanced the natural sweetness of the greens without making them oily. The Black Pepper Beef has always been one of my favorite dishes here. The beef slices were generously sized, tender, and flavorful. The black pepper sauce had a rich, aromatic kick with just the right amount of spice, complementing the beef beautifully without overpowering its natural taste. The Moon Tofu with Shimeji Mushrooms was another excellent dish. The tofu was silky smooth and incredibly soft inside, with a delicate texture that almost melted in the mouth. Combined with the umami-rich shimeji mushrooms and the savory sauce, it was comforting, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious. I also booked a private room for my birthday celebration, and the service was outstanding. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always nearby whenever we needed assistance. The food was served promptly, and the entire team made our celebration feel smooth, comfortable, and memorable. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience with consistently delicious food and exceptional service. I'll definitely be coming back again.
View on GoogleMay 16 2026 We came here to celebrate a birthday. We came here with a total of about 15 people. The VIP room was so comfortable, clean, detailed and inspiring. Try out their duck dishes because that is their main point. Their dim sum, vegetables and seafood are also delicious. Very delicious. Their tea, it isn’t a hassle as it is always refillable at your convenience. You can choose what any eligible or compatible food to dip in the huge selection/variety of sauces they provide. There is also television and karaoke set inside the VIP rooms. Their walls are decorative, there are like Chinese traditional paintings. The words on the walls are also very meaningful symbolizing good fortunes. In addition, the interior outdoor is also nice especially the toilets, are clean, bright and smell good. This restaurant is well-maintained. Thank you for the very great experience. Price is quite pricey as well. Overall, it seems like this restaurant is very good with an average-enough portion of food and selection. In conclusion, we would highly recommend this place to people who are looking for good posh Chinese restaurants in South Jakarta.
View on GoogleI had the pleasure of dining at The Duck King Palace for a dinner outing with my staff friends, and I have to say, the experience exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a fantastic evening. The décor strikes a perfect balance between modern sophistication and traditional charm, making it an ideal setting for both a casual meal with friends or a more formal celebration. But let’s talk about the real star of the night: the food. It was, in a word, amazing. We decided to order a wide variety of dishes to share family-style, and every single plate that arrived at our table was a delight. Of course, being called the Duck King Palace, we had to put their signature dishes to the test, and they did not disappoint. The roast duck was absolutely perfection—the skin was incredibly crispy and flavorful, while the meat remained succulent and tender. It is easily some of the best duck I have ever tasted. Beyond the duck, the entire meal was a journey through rich and authentic flavors. From perfectly prepared dim sum to vibrant stir-fried vegetables and savory meats, the quality of the ingredients and the skill in the kitchen were evident in every bite. The portions were generous, ensuring that our group of hungry colleagues had more than enough to go around. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and handled our large group with grace, making sure our drinks were always topped up and that we had everything we needed. It is rare to find a restaurant that combines such high-quality food, a great atmosphere, and top-tier service so seamlessly. If you are looking for a place to enjoy an unforgettable meal with colleagues or friends, I cannot recommend The Duck King Palace enough. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and plans to return very soon. A truly royal dining experience
View on GoogleWe had a birthday dinner at this newly opened Duck King. We ordered foods and desserts seen in the pictures. Our champ was the signature's peking duck, especially the crispy skin. We also liked the delicious nasi goreng, the crispy kailan, and the soft and juicy steam fish. The tofu, the soups and the desserts were not bad, but not special. The ambiance was big, neat and bright. That's why it's called palace. The services were responsive and helpful. We spent an eye popping almost 3 million for five people. We apparently paid not only for the foods (especially for the fish, duck and lobster soup), but also for the ambiance. Coming back for the second time, this time with a friend, we ordered the signature bebek panggang, udang goreng gandum dan stim iga sapi. They were all good. The duck was tender and juicy, and so was the ribs. The shrimp was big in size and flavorful. Coming back for the third time, I wasn't with anyone. I exclusively ordered dimsums: hakau, siomay, iga sapi and lo ma kai, plus sup kepiting and almond longan sago pudding. The winner was iga sapi. It was tender and savory. The rests came up next. They were flavorful. Rather pricey but good. Coming back for the fourth time, we ordered some different dishes. They were cheong fen, tim kaki ayam, bakso goreng leci, pickle cherry tomat dan telur pitan cabe ijo. We liked all of them, except bakso goreng, which was bland.
View on GoogleThis was my first time trying Duck King, and since we chose the premium outlet, my expectations for the service were quite high. Honestly, the food and ambience were excellent. No complaints there at all. The only thing I’d like to point out was the way the waiter repeatedly mentioned, “but the price is…” when I ordered a menu item. I was honestly a bit taken aback because… yes, I’m aware of the price and I still wanted to order it. Even my mom almost reacted to it but chose to stay quiet. I simply replied that yes, I would still like to order one. I believe management and service staff should understand that guests who come and dine are already aware of what they can afford. I’m not sure whether this is part of the SOP, but personally, I found it a bit inappropriate. Other than that, the dining experience itself was great. Thank you.
