We arrived early at around 8.50am as the mall opens at 9am. When we got there, most shops were still setting up, so we took some time to walk around and browse before properly shopping. There are plenty of clothing stores with nice designs and affordable prices. You do need to be good at bargaining to get better deals. Most shops prefer cash payments, but some do accept QRIS. For Malaysians, MAE can also be used for QR payments. However, one major downside was that people were smoking freely inside the mall, even though it is an enclosed, air-conditioned space. The smell was quite strong and uncomfortable, especially for non-smokers. This really affected the overall experience. (-2) Overall, it’s a decent place for budget shopping, but the smoking issue definitely brings the rating down.
View on GoogleThe Pusat Batik Nusantara, located at the basement level in Thamrim Mall, is a great place to find a variety of batik. There are men's shirt, women clothing and batik textiles. They have both high end batik and very affordable batik. The sellers are most friendly and helpful, but some bargaining skills are required to get a good price.
View on GoogleA tad calmer mall compared to Tanah Abang. Spacious and a lot of choices. A bit more expensive than Tanah Abang. But if you move deeper inside you can still find a steal. More elegant and classier choices available here as well.
View on GoogleHad such a great experience shopping at Thamrin City during our Jakarta trip! The place is huge and super happening, especially if you love shopping for clothes, batik, tudung, fabrics, bags, and souvenirs at really affordable prices. So many choices until pening kepala also 😂 What I really liked was how convenient everything was. The mall is lively, easy to walk around, and there are many food stalls and shops everywhere. The sellers were mostly friendly and not too pushy, which made shopping more comfortable. We managed to find so many nice items at good prices and honestly felt very worth it. The atmosphere there really gives the authentic Jakarta shopping vibe. Perfect place if you want to experience local shopping and hunt for good deals. We spent hours there without even realising the time. Definitely one of the must-visit places in Jakarta especially for tourists looking for affordable shopping and unique Indonesian products. Overall, really enjoyed our time at Thamrin City and would definitely come back again next trip. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Jakarta!
