Great experience at Sushi Tei Senayan City 🍣 We had an extensive meal here and really enjoyed it. We did have to wait a bit for a table, but it went relatively fast and was definitely worth it. The sushi was very tasty — fresh, well prepared, and full of flavor 🤤 The service was excellent as well, with friendly and attentive staff throughout our visit. Overall a very enjoyable dinner and a place I would definitely recommend 👍

For many people, Sushi Tei was one of the go-to places for affordable sushi back in the 2010s. At that time, sushi restaurants in Jakarta weren’t as common as they are today — especially places that served a wide variety of sushi rolls. Sushi Tei was definitely one of the pioneers that made sushi more accessible and casual for many people. I remember coming here quite often because it was one of the few places where you could explore different types of sushi rolls without feeling too intimidated or breaking the bank. Their menu was huge, and there was always something for everyone — from classic sushi and sashimi to creative rolls and hot dishes. The sushi itself has always been reliable. Fresh, well-portioned, and satisfying for the price point. It might not be the most premium sushi experience today, but it’s still comforting and consistent. For me, Sushi Tei isn’t just about the food — it’s also about the memories of discovering sushi during a time when Japanese food culture in Jakarta was just starting to grow. A true OG in Jakarta’s sushi scene

Stepping into this modern sushi venue, you’re immediately drawn to its sleek decor and inviting ambiance. The space is thoughtfully designed, striking a balance between contemporary elegance and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff match the vibe—attentive, friendly, and eager to help guide you through their menu with genuine warmth. Where this place truly shines is in its service and overall setting. Whether you’re there for a casual dinner or a special night out, the service is consistently commendable, and the ambiance sets a pleasant backdrop for your meal. That said, while the presentation of the sushi is visually appealing, the flavors can feel a bit underwhelming. The dishes, though crafted with care, seem to miss the punch that one expects from premium sushi, leaving you with a sense that the culinary execution could use a bit more finesse. Overall, it’s a spot that has all the ingredients for a great dining experience—stellar service, a refined ambience, and promise on the plate. With a few tweaks in taste, it could easily become a favorite among sushi enthusiasts.

I won't be coming back because of the poor hygiene. I ordered the salmon sushi, and there was a cockroach on one of the pieces. Finding a cockroach on food at a restaurant that serves raw fish is absolutely unacceptable and was honestly disgusting. The staff replaced the dish with a new one, but simply replacing the food doesn't solve the real problem. The fact that this happened in the first place shows a serious lack of hygiene and quality control. No matter how good the food might be, basic cleanliness should come first. Until they address their hygiene standards, I have no intention of returning.
