One of the Padang restaurants in the Benhil area that’s quite popular. The place is fairly spacious, and the restaurant has two floors, so there’s plenty of seating. They remain open during Friday prayers, but service is handled by female staff — which is convenient since most Padang restaurants nearby are closed at that time. 1. Nasi Rames + Rendang + Dadar Personally, I prefer my nasi Padang with all the dishes served directly on the rice — it makes the flavors richer, and you can mix in different curry gravies. The rendang here was tender with minimal sinew, so it wasn’t tough at all. The omelette was decent, and it tasted even better when paired with the vegetables and sambal ijo.

Food, not that freshly cooked; it's rather "recycled". It's cold. "Recycled" means that when a patron "put aside" foods that not their liking, not touched..goes back to the food counter; cold. My suggestions for this : Put it into Food Warmer.

Amazing little spot for traditional foods. They give you a bowl of rice and then put about 12 small dishes of vegetables, meats, and sambals down and you pick whatever you want. Leave any you don’t want untouched. Costs about 100,000 rupiah per person.

If you are a picky, sensitive eater, then this place is not for you. They serve food by portions and place eveything (whatever is available in their menu) on your table. Then you choose and eat directly whatever you want. Don't touch a plate if you don't wana eat it because if you touch it, it's considered sold. Well anyway, I liked this place because I am into acquainting into new culture. Whenever I think of this place, I thought of the dish called Randang. I liked their Randang - very much. Price is very much affordable. Definitely worth for you to try! 😉

One of the most succesful Padang Restaurant franchise in Indonesia. IMHO it's the largest in term of the number of franchise. This one is in Benhil, Jakarta. The term sederhana means "simple" or "modest" or even "plain". The reality is far from its name. The food is complex and top notch Padang cuisine. It is full of spice, full of umami and the hot chilli sambal gives extra kick to their rich flavour. From the classic rendang, ayam pop, red and green sambal, turmeric fried chicken, gulai ayam, gulai kepala ikan, to the humble young jack fruit, oseng tempe, etc, all will spoil your taste buds. Amazingly delicious! This restaurant in Benhil is pretty famous for the mid-high end customers. Mostly crowded during lunch. It has 2 floors, the 2nd floor is for smokers. The officers work very effective and efficiently. Maybe too efficient they rarely smile. Besides if your restaurant is always full, why bother smiling? Hmmmmm The price is premium, not sederhana. Around IDR 30K - 100K per person, depends on what you order (of course). The biggest problem is on the 2nd floor, the air conditioning is far from working well. The wind from the fan is strong, and that is all about it. It is not even cool, it is hot and humid like hell (?). Not that I've been to hell though. 😬 It is that hot and uncomfortable you feel the sweat - sticky your whole body. This is my 2nd time dine in here and with exactly the same experience. I gave feedback and no improvement. Too bad. This hot, humid and uncomfortable worth 2 star fall off from the rank.
