Gudeg Pejompongan has a charming terrace-style feel, and the old-house setting gives it a lot of character. It is easy to see why this place is considered one of Jakarta’s classics. I ordered a complete nasi gudeg, and the krecek stood out for me most — flavorful and not overly spicy. A nice spot if you want a traditional meal in a place with real history.
View on GoogleI have visited this place many time since 20 years ago and it still taste the same (delicious). I think its my go to breakfast place or when I want to eat Gudeg in Jakarta. Must try eat Gudeg menu complete with Chicken, Semur Tahu, and don't forget Kerupuk and hot tea (not sweet) 😋
View on GoogleMan, this place always hits the spot! When you’re craving delicious gudeg rice meal, just come here. Nothing gets better than this. And not too pricey either despite the prime central city location. The place gets a bit crowded during meal hours though, so come during off hours and you’ll have a great time!
View on GoogleMemories of Jogja 🛤️ and it's most memorable local delicacies 🍲 An old house converted into a restaurant in the busy Benhil street. Gudeg Pejompongan only sells the famous gudeg dishes from Jogja, the soulful city of art and central Javanese culture. Gudeg is steamed jackfruit sweetened with brown sugar, steamed chicken 🐔🍗 in coconut gravy, sauteed cow 🐄🐮 skin, steamed shredded coconut 🥥 with salted anchovies, steamed cassava leaves with rice 🍚🌾. That makes a "special complete gudeg rice". The gudeg style is wet. Taste is good. Price is moderate. Don't miss to order botok and buntil, Javanese peasants food, healthy and delicious 😋
View on GoogleThe gudeg type is dry/kering type. The taste was rich with coconut milk and sweetness which at the end made the dish too heavy. I wish they could add extra spiciness. The portion was a bit little compared to the price they charged.
