Good food and good vibe. It's my first time trying Coto Makassar. The soup was not salty at all in the beginning, but there is always salt on the table. Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of sambal tauco, the sourness is too sharp for me. I prefer a normal spicy sambal, but maybe it's just the food culture itself always include tauco. I also arrived at night which not so crowded.

We stopped by while waiting for our hotel check-in since it was just a short walk away. It turns out this place is quite famous, so we were excited to give it a try. The coto Makassar was decent, but it wasn't quite what we expected. The broth was a bit thin and rather mild in flavor. The portion size was good for the price, though, so it still felt like reasonable value. We also tried the es pisang ijo, which was enjoyable. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive and quick—they came over to take our order as soon as we sat down, and the food arrived in no time. Since the restaurant is located right by the roadside, there's a constant flow of traffic, making the atmosphere quite busy. It didn't really bother us, but I can imagine it gets pretty crowded during peak hours. Overall, it was a decent experience, mainly thanks to the fast service and fair portions, even though the coto itself didn't quite live up to the hype.

My friend from Makassar, South Sulawesi told me that this is one of the best Coto Makassar in Jakarta for its authenticity and taste. The star of course is the coto, a soup based dish with thick beef broth and using almost all parts of a single cow such as its meat, liver, heart, intestine, tripe, lung, fat, etc and served with tauco (fermented soy beans) sambal, and buras (rice cooked in banana leaves). The coto usually served in base taste which slightly bland and it’s up to the customer to customize the taste by adding salt, sambal, or soy sauce, all of those are available for free. The place also offers other South Sulawesi delicacies such as bikang doang, jalangkote, es palubutung/ pisang ijo that you can choose from the menu. Price wise it’s not too expensive, and with taste that never fails it’s a recommended place to go.

Somewhat easy to find. Will very hard to find parking by driving a car. But for motorcycle you can park just near it. It's between narrow alley. The place is very compact, your seat most probably in contact with other people. Their food is as good as you expect it to be. They have pictures of old era, looking at them feels like a walk of memory lane. They say they open 24 hours, so I guess you can visit anytime.

the food was tasty! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the portion was just right. The beef could be a little more tender, and if it was, it would definitely take the dish to the next level. But overall, it’s still really good and the price is very reasonable.
