One of the legends of Pempek restaurant in Jakarta. Excited at first to try the Pempek but turns out just a so-so regular Pempek. Ordered the Lenggang, Kapal Selam and Kulit. Disappoint with the Lenggang, I don't know it feels like the egg (duck eggs?) is fishy and the taste is bland. Kapal Selam is okay though, has a fish flavour for Pempek. Kulit if fried until dry will be better. Do you know the key for Pempek is the vinegar sauce? yeah, it's not really special here. It has a little bit of a taste of acid, not spicy even if I add a chilli for the vinegar sauce it does not change anything 😂 LOL I hope it's only me to have a condition like that. Also, I ordered the Es Kacang Merah. Which is only read beans topped with ice and strawberry syrup 🙄 The place is quite big and has a lot of seating indoors (with AC) and outdoors (a lot of smokers). The staff was not really helpful at first, I needed to call and wave my hand 2-3 times until I got their attention for ordering the food. I will think again about coming here, maybe there's another good option for Pempek in Jakarta

Pempek was incredible. Ordered the Adaan and Pempek Keju, came out steaming hot and crispy. I would definitely come back here solely for this. However, the service was terrible, had to wave to 3 servers who only responded with a nod? Was extremely confused.

Okay… it’s pempek time. What is pempek? Pempek is a traditional food from Palembang. It’s fish based food. As a condiment, they add some sauce called cuko. Cuko is a sweet and spicy vinnegar. Place : located in the Metropole Foodcourt. Usually it’s very crowded, mostly during lunch and dinner time. Parking lot is large, but sometimes it’s full since the parking area is share with the movie theater. Ambient : full and crowded. There are an outdoor and indoor area. For indoor area there is an aircon to make you feel more comfortable. Food : in my opinion, the taste of the pempek was degraded. Compare to what it was, it’s less tasty. The cuko itself is less spicy. I ordered a kapal selam pempek, a pempek with an egg inside. Price : I think, with a price at idr28k it’s a bit pricy. But, since it has a good history and located at a very good location, it’s still acceptable for most people. My friend said, don’t expect too much when you eat pempek outside Palembang/ South Sumatera area, and it’s true.

I come in at 7pm and sadly the only pempek left is only kapal selam, the small size one. I like it, authentic but that's it, not much to tell. Will come back anytime soon to taste the fullest of legendary pempek megaria my gf keeps bragging about lol

Legendary pempek Restaurant. The taste still the same even for more than 4 decade. It is inside the Megaria complex area. The price start from 6k up to 25k for the food and the drinks start from 5k up to 15k. There are atm center and clean toilet.
